Bleeding and uterine prolapse

Body:

My sister-in-law had a hysterectomy and reconstructive work a year ago because of a uterine prolapse. She was also having a lot of bleeding and the doctor told her that it was because her uterus could not contract properly. Could this have been the cause of her bleeding? Or maybe she had fibroids too? The reason I ask is I have fibroids and a prolapse. I am also having a lot of bleeding. The research I have done seems to indicate that it is the fibroids that are causing my bleeding. On the positive side, my prolapse has been so much better since I started the exercises a month ago. I have the video and the book. I still have a lot of work to do with both conditions but I feel optimistic.

Hi Jankoni,

Heavy bleeding with prolapse is not a picnic

...or maybe you were wondering if prolapse keeps the uterus from contracting properly...the uterus works just the same, prolapsed or not...

I was wondering about the prolapse not allowing the uterus to contract properly because that is what my sister-in-law's doctor said. By the way, my prolapse has improved so much that I am able to wear tampons. A month ago they were being pushed out. My family wants me to get something done right now (with the fibroids and prolapse). All these problems just started in July 2004. I keep trying to tell them "it didn't happen overnight". It takes time to work with the body. Thanks to this site and everyone's supportive attitude.

What is the hurry? Prolapse is not a terminal condition; it's not life threatening... :) Congratulations in your success with this work.
