iJoy Ride

Body:

My daughter just got hold of the remote control and changed the channel to a shopping channel. They are selling this exercise equipment called the iJoy Ride and boy does that look BAD for women. It simulates horse riding or something but the women are sitting in a slightly slumped back position and then they are being kind of jolted backwards and forwards. They obviously do not take into account the womans pelvic floor when inventing these things and yet it is mostly women in the programme.

... a woman being interviewed that has just had a baby (few months old) and she is using it to get back in shape. If only she knew.

Well, I guess like all exercise equipment on shopping channels there will be women (and probably men) who will buy them, and use them for a while, then have them sitting around in the loungeroom taking up space for a while, then shift them to the shed, then advertise them along with all the other people doing the same thing. The worry is, as you say, how much damage will be done to bodies for the short period of time they are a novelty. I guess it will only be a matter of time until a user turns up here. We cannot save people from themselves. Unfortunately we all seem to get to the point of saying, "if only I had known then what I know now".

Cheers
