Posture

Body:

This is my first post and my first day to find this forum. I am so interested to understand what is meant by "correct posture" and "correct way to do kegels." I have been "playing" with some yoga postions in an attempt to fix my rectocele. I have diagnosed myself.

I am 61 and have had a hysterectomy, cystocele and rectocle (I hope I spelled them right!) in 1998. About a month ago I felt something bulging out of my vagina. I went to the gynocologist who said he "felt a lot of stool" and told me I needed a colonscopy and a pelvic ultrasound.

The ultrasound showed the bladder was where it should be. The colonscopy is scheduled for the middle of June. So here I am waiting. I wish I knew something to do with my body to make the heaviness down there go away. That is why I keyed in on the posture and exercise concepts.

Oh that this site would have the solution to this problem. I am so relieved to know I am not alone. I really don't want to go thru surgery again if I can help it. It was not a fun surgery to recover from. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

I do not really know much about working the DVD player. Tell me more about the book.

Hi Meribelle,

The book is all about how to bring our natural anatomy back to the true pelvic organ support system. A lot of it may be discouraging to you as it is really geared toward explaining why we should do everything in our power to avoid these operations. The posture is explained in the book as are the theories of why we need to understand and consciously utilize our breath, our spine, and gravity to reposition the pelvic organs. I believe this information would be useful to you, but you need more due to the special circumstances of hysterectomy.

I am working on a post-hysterectomy dvd (hope you figure out your dvd player by then :) which will be available within the next few months.

Wishing you well,

Christine

Meribelle, I would like to know how was your rectocele diagnosed. I feel I have one - does a gynaecologist or a gastroentrologist diagnoses this. What did you have done to have it corrected? Thank you for any relevant info you can give.
