Ok, I'm miserable

Body:

Hi Christine,

I've been reading the posts frequently and was quite happy that I didn't seem to be in as bad a shape as some of the other ladies out there. I accepted my problem, sort of (yeah, I know) did the exercises but didn't commit to it daily. I am miserable because I traveled for two weeks including a trip to Albuquerque January 11, to do the "a woman's affair" show with my products (sorry, there was absolutely no time to come introduce myself to you - I now regret that I did not make time).

That was a 12 hour trip to and 12 hour trip from home. I knew after 6 hours, I was going to be in trouble because of the sitting position in the car, but had no idea how bad it would be. The trip home was a real killer and I've been walking bent over ever since. The rectocele is definitely worse. Will sea sponges in the vagina help the rectocele? I cannot sit here at the computer going through all the pages to find the info I need to help myself. The posture is making my upper back hurt (I have the connective tissue disorder from breast cancer surgeries) so feel I am between a rock and a hard place. The rhomboid (sp?) area in my upper back just screams in protest when I try to maintain the posture. Evidently, I have to start from scratch but can't even remember which posts had the links to the pictures, exercises, etc. Did you say when your new book and video will be coming out?

Ok, you all have permission to berate me for not committing to the posture and exercises - just be gentle!!

I urge everyone not to become complacent and do keep up your regimens.

As ever,
Grandma Joy

Hi Grandma Joy,

I'd very much like to work with you in person as I have some ideas for your special needs. Call and come by next time!!

Right now, think of how your spine needs to be held and the pain of fascial strain from forcing it into anatomically undesirable positions. Gently and as continuously as you can, resume the standing and seated postures. As soon as you wake up in the morning, try sitting crosslegged with all aspects of the upper body posture in place. Just BE there for twenty minutes or so watching the rise and fall of your breath. When thoughts come acknowledge them and then re-focus on your breath - over and over again. Your entire nervous system will re format around this proper shape and I bet many of your problems will resolve. Then throughout the day let your spine do the work of walking and sitting. It has total capacity to do so.

I don't hold out much hope of the sponge being very helpful for the rectocele. However, constant sitting over the pubic bone will. Even positions like sitting on the edge of a chair or couch send pressure to the butt. We want it over the pubic bone!!

Christine

p.s. I wouldn't do much exercising right now with the pain. Things are all pulled out of whack and gentle walking is probably best for the next few days.

I hope this is only a temporary setback and things go back to where they were before your trip.
