When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Remember, the forum is here for two reasons. First, to get your questions answered by other women who have knowledge and experience to share. Second, it is the place to share your results and successes. Your stories will help other women learn that Whole Woman is what they need.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!
Best wishes,

Slippery Elm
I went to my health store but they too only had capsule form so I went online and you can buy slippery elm at amazon and eBay. I bought the now brand in powder form on eBay and it was around $10.00. I too have constipation issues and did my research and found many who have said it works wonders so as soon ad it gets here I'll be giving it a try myself. Good luck!!!

Slippery Elm
Hi, Empty-Inside35,
Thank you so much for the information. I hope it works for you, it is nice to hear that people have had success with it. Do Post and let us know how you get on with it.
My husband has just been on the computer and told be that it is banned in England now, just a bit of information for those people living in England who perhaps didn't know this.
Best Wishes, Daphne.

Daphne re buying Slippery Elm in Ontario
Hi Daphne,
I live in London but am actually away visiting family until the end of November.
There is a drug store in London called Turner Drug Store that has a supplement section and they sell SLippery Elm powder in bulk.
It is around $11 for every 100g (grams) but they have it in a huge amount so you can order any multiple of 100g that you like.
They will take orders over the telephone and ship to you. I don't know the shipping cost but if you call them with your address, they should be able to give you an estimate.
The person to speak to there is named Mike. Don't bother speaking to anyone else :) he is the supplement guy and is the one I just called now to ask about this. He's there Tues-Fri.
their number is 1 (800) 566-8482
There may be other stores in London that also have it but I find that Turner's has very good prices on natural stuff compared to other health food stores there.
best of luck!

Slippery Elm in powder form
Hi Daphne. I'm a resident of Essex County and purchase all of my supplements on-line from a company in Orillia, ON due to the exorbitant prices I find in retail stores in Windsor and surrounding communities. This particular company offers free shipping on on-line orders above a specific price which adds to the reduction in price that I ultimately achieve. I've deal with them for a few years and they have always been efficient, prompt and helpful.
I took a peek at their on-line web site and they offer a brand of slippery elm in powder form for $27.99 (200g).
I don't know if it is appropriate in this forum to provide the name of the company, but I will for your benefit and with the disclaimer that I have no affiliation with this supplier other than as a satisfied customer who discovered them while searching for better deals on-line for supplements.
The company is National Nutrition. I fully understand if the moderators don't permit this.
As a rectocele sufferer I work diligently every day in order to avoid constipation. I succeed largely by avoiding red meat and poultry and ingesting liberal amounts of fruits and fibrous vegetables daily. I also try to limit my intake of refined flour-containing foods. My daily supplement regimen involves taking a combo of liquid calcium and magnesium and I believe that the magnesium component is helpful in keeping stools soft on a regular basis.
Good luck in your quest for relief for this problem.

a 2nd good opinion of Canadian online supplement company
I, too, use NationalNutrition.ca
if my order is over $79, the shipping is free and I've been very happy with their service over the last few years I've been using them.
I'm not affiliated in any way :-)
Another company I use is BodyEnergyClub.com which only requires a $50 order for shipping to be free. but since they are in BC and I'm in ONtario, it can take a long time for orders to arrive. NationalNutrition is faster and has more selection.
for US readers, I suspect there's probably somewhere in the US that would be better than these places (arrive faster, better shipping etc. I don't know if the shipping rates I shared apply outside of Canada)

Buying Slippery Elm in the UK
Hi Daphne
Just did a bit of research into availability of slippery elm in the uk. It seems to have become the victim of an "EU Herbal Directive" aimed at "harmonizing herbal regulations in all EU countries" Apparently slippery elm can now only be sold in the presence of a registered pharmacist. All very odd, the world has gone mad. However it is still easily available to buy, in powder form or capsules. It seems to be amazingly versatile, apart from sorting out your insides, apparently it also makes a good poultice and is brilliant for drawing out embedded splinters or thorns.

Endorsing products
Hi Want to be whol ...
That is fine to endorse products personally. We just don't like people blatantly mis-using the Forums to promote themselves or their company. It is pretty obvious to the Moderators when this happens. It is not very often.
Mike will not know what hit him next week. However, it's not OK for his company to promote themselves on the site. This seems to be a retail shop.
There have been times when we have been a little uncomfortable about women posting contact details for a female doctor who may be a sole practitioner. That was a little uncomfortable, so we just removed key details that made it a little harder to find her, and encouraged the women to email each other via the site to share the exact contact details..

constipation
Hi Daphne,
I don't know anything about slippery elm powder, but I know of another product that I use that is called WOW from Roex. It has a blend of herbs, and I have found it very effective. The name "WOW" really suits it. You get good solid bowel movements. This is the website if you care to try it www.roex.com. I know this company for years and are very good.
Take care of that colon.

re endorsing products
hi Louise,
I really hope I didn't do anything wrong!
I am not affiliated in any way with any of the companies or stores I shared. I don't benefit in any way if people shop there and there aren't any 'referral points' programs (at least not that I know of or am part of :). I shared only companies I have personally used.
did someone from Turners end up coming on here and posting? that would be totally uncool and I hope I misunderstood about that :)

Hi Salt
No, everything is OK. Nobody posted anything illegal. I just wanted to let you know the guidelines. Everyone has done just fine. It is a sad old world if we cannot share our reviews of, and comments on different products that we like. ;-)

Slippery Elm
Dear Popsicles
The health shop I bought some from didn't know it's been banned in the UK! Unfortunately as I've been travelling about recently I can't remember exactly where it was...could have been Devon or Kent. (It obviously doesn't help the memory!) It's very soothing but I find difficult to make into a drink without lumps. I mix a spoonful into a paste first and then add boiling water. best taken before bedtime.
There was also a box of SE drink in the shop but it had added sugar and cost a lot more.
I alternate with Lepicol which has probiotics in as well as fibre but can be too much bulk at times. Wonderfully expensive though.
It is an art as well as a science to keep a bowel happy. The more information on the subject the better. Stress is the killer for me- just thinking can sometimes tie me in knots. Diet and the weather also make a difference.
Good to have a chance to discuss how to deal with this

Thanks salt
Just read your reply to me, Thank you for giving those addresses, I will check them out.
I have been trying to find the letter that someone wrote a little while ago that said she had sent for some slippery elm on the Internet for about ten dollars but when I looked it was about 39 dollars. I haven't been successful in finding the letter again, I should have made a note when I read it.

salt another Thank you
I just read another letter that you sent me on the 21st. about the slippery elm. That is great information. I will call them. My son lives in London and I have been asking him to try some of the stores for me but so far he hasn't been successful so it was nice that you sent that information. Sorry it took so long to answer you but I have been having a rough time with my prolapes. At the moment I have a Bladder infection and am having to take some sort of Sulpher Antibiotic which are making me feel sick. The drug store told me they usually have the opposite result to constipation but not for me. I haven't had a bowel movement since last Thursday and it's now Monday again. Well, 2 little bits this morning if that counts:-)
Hope you are enjoying your holiday with the family.

Constipation
Hi Daphne
As this is hopefully a temporary constipation brought on by the sulfa drugs, perhaps you would consider an enema, as a once off solution, to take the pressure off the rectocele? I suggest that you ask your chemist/pharmacist about it. The rectocele will be exacerbating your inability to empty your bowel, and your inability to empty your bowel will exacerbate the rectocele. A once off enema intervention may cut that vicious cycle, and give you a rest from worrying about it, which may also free up your bowel function.
I suggest that you take a course of probiotic when the antibiotic is finished, to repopulate your gut and get it processing your food more efficiently. I have found in the past that probiotics can be helpful with constipation, as well as loose motions. Everything seems to become more regular again.
Thinking of you.

compassion for Daphne
Dear Daphne,
I'm so sorry you are going through this rough time right now.
I know what it's like to be so constipated (and I don't know if you're like me but it makes it really hard to eat because it feels like there's no room left).
I hope you are able to finish that antibiotic SOON and enjoy having less poo in you!
I'm glad your son is in London, that could save you shipping charges!
I've been having the uterine and bladder prolapse be much worse for the last few days. spasming when I lie down so that I am unable to sleep. but the rectocele is still better than it has been in the past and I'm holding onto the knowledge that just a week ago, the uterine prolapse was the best it's been since it first happened in early August. so I know it can improve again.
I can't recall, do you have any of Christine's DVDs?
and, if so, have you ever noticed any improvements from the posture - even small ones?
thinking of you

great suggestions Louise :)
those are such great suggestions Louise.
I tend to forget that a once off enema could be really helpful!
and probiotics after antibiotics are so important (I wish pharmacists and doctors suggested that to people as a matter of course)
