Nee uterine prolapse and confused

Body:

I'm 26 years old mother with two beautiful sons. I Had my first son last year febuary. I was induced at 36wks due to severe pre-eclampsia. I pushed for 2hrs and everything was good. I noticed my cervix protruding from my vagina when I was 16wks pregnant with my son. I freaked out and when to see my obgn. unfortunately she wasnt able to see it and told me its because the uterus is still small and once the baby grows it will back up. fortunately thats exactly what happened. I had an easy delivery. I had 3hrs of active labor and pushed for less than 10min. He was very small only 4lbs and 7oz because he was premature at 36wks. I was so happy this delivery was much smoother than the first one. To my surprise I saw my cervix protruding out of my vagina while using the bathroom after one week pp. I gave it another week and did extensive kegels thinking it woukd help but ofcourse nothing improved. I went to go see my obgn at two weeks postpartum and my cervix decided to go up. She said it was a little lower than normal and I shoulf continue to do kegels. She refered me to pelvic floor specialist whom I will meet with the end of the month. Im almost five week pp. i discovered this forum while searching the net and was relieved by the vast beneficial information it contains. Im ordering the book and First aid prolapse dvd this week. I have been doing the postures as much as I can. Sometimes ut gets a little hard to maintain with a toddler and newborn. I noticed my cervix doesnt protrude anymore but is up atleast have an inch. However im now scared that I might have developed other prolapsed because I can palpate soft tisues on the posterior and anterior. Im not sure if its the vagina walls thst are loose or other prolapses.

I want to thank all the ladies in this forum who have helped many women with their experiences. And special thanks to christine for discovering a new way to take control of prolapse

Hi enthusiastic and congrats to you! The whole pp prolapse thing is so full of ups and downs, and has a tendency to get worse just when you think it should be getting better. You have plenty of improvement in store, up to 2 years really, before things are back to whatever "normal" will be for you. So in the meantime, I'd forget about the kegels (Christine has written extensively on kegels in her book and in lots of blog articles and forum posts). Rest when you can, work on posture, take care with lifting, avoid straining on the toilet, and soak up all the knowledge and understanding that you can from Christine's works. There is so much you can do. If I could, I'd turn back the clock to where you are now, and throw myself into this posture correction with everything I had. Happy that you found us here! - Surviving

I have never heard of prolapse before my diagnosis. I was very happy to find this site. It has helped me cope with my situation. Im eager to learn from the experiences of the ladies on this forum

Hi enthusiastic,
Welcome to the WW community. I'm so glad you found this site. There's loads of info on the site and lots of support and advice on the forum. I hope you find it all helpful. There's a lot to take in, but fortunately time is on our side. We'v got the rest of our lives to do this work and learn more and, crucially, pass it on when and where appropriate.

As the prlvic organs are so closely aligned, if a woman has a primary prolapsed pelvic organ the chances are that one or both of the other organs may also be somewhat prolapsed. However fortunately the reverse is also true. Once we start to improve our symptoms in one area, this has a beneficial effect on the other 2 organs. A key aspect of the ww work is to encourage the pelvic organs 'up and forward' i.e. he reverse of back and down, so that the pelvic organs are moved up and towards the front of the lower belly behind the abdominal wall. A lot of the exercises are designed to do just this.

The posture is key to this work. If you live as much in ww posture as possible, then this facilitates positive change.

There's a lot to learn - and benefit from over time. Every breath and every step we take can be a step in the right direction.
