What About a Liver Purge or Cleanse?

Body:

Is a liver purge advisable for women who have prolapse?? Does anyone have any experience to share?

I've been doing a bit of research on liver purges and I find that they can help balance hormones. Also, having read on the forum here about not 'straining', I'm wondering if liver purges would safely clean out the colon and help the system function properly.

Can anyone help me with this?? I'm in the middle of problems with prolapse as well as uterine fibroids, and I'm looking for natural remedies ... from my kitchen.

I'm already working on the WW posture which feels so good, but I'm seeking alternatives to surgery

Hi want2know - if you are seeking an alternative to prolapse surgery, then the answer is WW posture and exercise, as well as all the good habits that we talk about here. Christine's newest DVD on vulva vaginal health is a wealth of information on foods and herbs that are good for female health. There are a number of recent discussion threads here on fibroids, which you can find with the help of the search box. I don't know about the liver purges, but my guess is no one who has seen that question has any relevant experience to share. - Surviving

Dear want2know,
Christine's Dvds & bookare a wealth of knowledge regarding women's issues.
I have read that eating a raw carrot daily helps bind excess estrogen, & eliminate it from the body, it was also noted as a remedy for headaches, which can be hormonal in nature.
A diet rich in omega 3 like avocado, good quality butter, coconut oil could help fibroids as it is deemed an inflammatory condition. I am lucky in that I only have 1 with its own blood supply, & I am told they shrink as one goes into menopause. I would be wary of "cleansing & purges" as the body renews itself constantly, & will be better at it, given the right food, rest & exercise.
Sugar ( high fructose corn syrup & fructose ) is also an inflammatory to be avoided & caffeine doesn't help. I have given up both & do feel better in general.
Hope this helps,
(((hugs)))
Best wishes

Thank you so much for your responses, Aussie Soul Sister and Surviving60. As I have already mentioned, I am working on the WW Posture, exercises and habits. Since I only found you all about a week ago, I don't have much to report :-D , but I do know that the posture feels good, and I have been able to stand and sit longer than I have been able to for a long time. I'm trying to remind myself not to strain to do BMs too .. and it is making a difference.

I have been so leery of surgeries, that I believe my 'womens intuition' has kept me from making any commitments so far.

Also, the information I read on the 'purges' sounded a bit scary, and I'd rather find out what foods are best to avoid and what foods actually help. I've pretty well cut out caffeine from my diet .. and I'm working on cutting out the white sugar.

It's good also to know that fibroids can tend to shrink or disappear after menopause. I am not through menopause yet, so probably working on the diet, rest & exercise will be best. (I'll try the carrot -- and more Omega 3's)

Hopefully my doctor will cooperate when I tell him my plans. I like to use the doctors for blood tests, and other necessary tests, but I would rather work on helping my body heal itself ... and even learning to live with prolapse.

Thanks again for your help and encouragement.

May God bless you all.
