PP incontinence is getting worse-why?

Body:

Hi, I am 8 weeks PP on sat. I have actually felt like I had been improving pain and feel wise. But this past week I have started having incontinence again and it seems to be getting worse. I don't understand.

Last weekend I had some burning like I was getting an infection. I didn't want to take antibiotics for it so I have been trying to treat it naturally. Could that be attributing to it?

I am lost and confused.

One more thing. It seems to get worse when I lay down then when I am standing up. Very weird to me.

Thank you for your time in replying.

Oh! I have been doing the posture!

Hi momma - Your question is better answered by one of our moms, but I will say that 8 weeks is way early in the recovery period and is probably a very vulnerable time. You are starting to feel better and you are probably doing lots more and you may not always be able to rest and relax at all. I know there are ups and downs during the PP period, some of which seem to fall into a pattern for some moms, and maybe others have something more random going on. But if you do have a UTI, that could certainly explain what you are currently experiencing. Aside from the obvious advice to make sure you are emptying completely (not always easy to tell), what have you been doing and is the burning getting any better since yesterday? - Surviving

I don't suffer from incontience so cannot really answer that but you do change a lot after birth so give it time, I always felt a lot looser down there and that's a lot better now, try walking in posture gently and if you can afford get the first aid prolapse DVD I do the exercises off there everyday if possible and seems to really help, actually I've had better result with that one strangely than the second wheel just my experience. Would defo get your doctors to check for any issues with infection etc just so you know. Try to give it time as well.all the best

Thank you for your comments.
I have been trying to make sure I empty completely but STILL, I seem to leak all the time now. I don't understand it. Why would the "ball" feeling go away but the leaking start? I really need to be able to understand the physical reason behind this.
I am doing much more, but that can't be helped. :(

I am trying to "live" in posture and I went for a walk today and am planning on walking a lot this week.

The burning has stopped but I think I will still go get checked tomorrow just in case I still have a UTI. I don't see how that would make me incontinent though.

What I need right now is hope that I can fix this. Are there PP mommas who were leaking but now it stopped? I really need some encouragement right now. My PP hormones are in full swing right now and this issue has thrown me into full post-partum depressions. I don't want to live the rest of my life wearing a pantiliner or a full pad.

Dear momma,
((hugs)) from me. Sorry I don't have any answers,
just some support while you wait on others' advice.
More (((hugs)))
& Best wishes

I just got home from getting checked and I don't currently have an infection. I say currently because who knows if I did previously when I had the burning. Everything was negative but she did I from me I needed to drink more water. I am honestly disappointed because I was hoping it would be a reason for the increased incontinence. I know it was unlikely but I needed that hope.

I think the clue in your case is the question you asked. You asked "why would the ball feeling go away but the leaking start?"
My guess is that your saggy bladder had formed a bit of a kink in your urethra. Now that the bladder is moving forward a bit, the kink is going away. If my guess is correct then there is some good news and some bad news.
The bad: for a time you will probably leak more
The good: you are reshaping your fascia and things are getting better already. The leaking is likely to be temporary. Keep up the good work and give it time. Try not to worry that having to wear a pad right now means you will always have to wear one. You have so much time to improve as your body reverts to it's baseline.
