what do you do

Body:

This is all new to me.. I guess I am lucky because I am 68. When I get up in the morning everything seems good. then after awhile for no reason I feel the lump coming out of vagina. I haven't received any books yet. I clean houses for a living and this is a problem. What do you do when you feel the lump? I mean is there any position that helps, some exercise, bending over, etc. I can't stay in bed.

Hi, grammy5,
Yes, that is pretty normal to have mornings seem fine, and then start getting more bulgy throughout the day. The book and the DVDs have great exercises and explanations on how to get into whole woman posture which is the key to managing our prolapse. In the meantime, you can get down on knees and forearms and breathe deeply into your lower belly throughout the day to get a little relief from the pressure, but it will take some time and whole woman work to really start getting relief from symptoms. If the bulge continues to bother you, you can always get a V-2 supporter to wear while you work on posture. I use it for a little extra support on bulgy days, and since you are house cleaning all day, you may find that handy. While you are at work also try to keep in whole woman posture as much as possible.
Just want to say welcome and take a look around the site; there is a lot of great information on the tool bar at the top while you are waiting for your book.

Thank you>>>I went to wal mart to look for a v2 supporter.. They did not have one. I'm guessing you have to order online. Did you order by your hip size? From what I read a lot of women get the wrong size. Also has working on the ww helped you a lot?

It tells you how to measure on the site. You actually measure around hips to below belly at the pubic bone. I got the large and it even seems a little big. I pull the side straps over my hip bones for more snugness. Just google V-2 supporter. I ended up ordering from amazon, because it was cheaper.
Yes, the whole woman work has helped me tremendously. I have the more profound uterine prolapse, and I am a little older, 51, so it has taken me awhile of really working at it to get my uterus to stay up longer. I have set backs too, but I love what whole woman has done for me so far.

Grammy, do you know what kind of prolapse you have? Support garments are best for women with significant uterine prolapse. Some of us have rectocele/cystocele which does produce bulges at the opening in various degrees, but I'm not sure how effective or comfortable a support garment is in cases where the uterus is already fairly well supported. Can you give us a bit more info? - Surviving

I don't know surviving. She did say she felt like a lump was coming out of her vagina. If it was a cystocele with the bladder bulging out of the vagina, wouldn't the V-2 help with a little comfort for that too? Just wondering, because I know I have read about some women having more than just the cervix protruding from the vagina, and I am not sure if the V-2 is for more than just uterine prolapse.

p.s. I think the V-2 is just a bandaid to a greater solution which will always be whole woman posture. That is what really helps in managing prolapse.

'Celes have grades just like any prolapse, and they can and do bulge out of the vagina. But they don't have the weight and heft of a protruding uterus and that is where the support comes in. Even on my worst day I think wearing support would be more irritating than helpful. I wouldn't mind hearing from other wearers. - Surviving

Thanks surviving. I know I don't know what it feels like to have the cystocele since I have never had one. But, I remember reading posts from Osmari where she said she had both bladder and uterus bulging down, and did get some relief from wearing the v-2. I just want to clarify, because I really don't want to be giving bad advice! So you think the V-2 would be irritating to bladder prolapse? Not trying to be confrontational, just trying to get a better understanding.

I don't know what it feels like to have the uterus pushing down on 'celes....mine are of the "nature's pessary" variety. I would hesitate to send someone out shopping for a support garment when she hasn't yet told us what type of bulge she has. - Surviving

You're right. I will refrain from my over zealous advice on the V-2.

Just read all of this. I ordered a v2.. It should be here Fri. I don't know what I have, but it is like a ball coming out of my vagina. It does not hurt, but feels like a tampax is coming out, if I remember right. After looking at the pictures of the v2 it looks like it would hold up whatever is coming out of the vagina. At first before finding this site I was afraid it could come out a lot more.. I do not want surgery, but I am miserable with it like it is now. It is only ok for awhile in the morning. I just want to know I can make it better and still go about everyday life while I work on it.

Sorry Grammy,
I really didn't mean to cause more confusion. The V-2 does help my uterine prolapse on bulgy days, but like I said before, getting the whole woman posture down will be your best support in the long run.

I ordered a V2 supporter and feel My money was wasted. I ordered a medium, which according to the sizing recommendations, should have been snug for me as I was 1" over the widest hip measurement. Well, the small would have been better. There is virtually no support that I feel and I have the straps adjusted to the snuggest fit. Because its a personal type item, it cannot be returned. I won't take another chance with a small size cause according to the size chart, I shouldn't even be able to hardly get it on. So this item totally leaves me high and dry. My prolapse is a noticeable "ball" sagging out of my vagina, like a filled water balloon most of the time. After emptying my bladder or bowels, the bulge isn't as saggy, but will sit just between the lips of the opening. I usually get an hour of comfort after waking up, but through the day I am aware of the nagging bulge. I don't have a uterus so there's little hope of restoring any stability for me. I am often bending over to my toes, allowing things to shift into more comfortable positions inside (very noticeable movement of pelvic organs too), and Ill move into a downward facing dog yoga position and do some deep fire breathing to help too. Sometimes I have to insert 2 fingers and push things up (even in a bent over position) to position things more away from the opening and then doing a strong pelvic contraction; this helps for a bit. Ill ly down at times during the day if needed too, esp if the bulge gets to feeling heavy and begins pulling on my rectum. I do the posture work, but without a uterus I really don't think it helps.

Anyway, if anyone would like a V2 in medium (tried on over clean underpants btw) and in the original packaging, I'd sell mine for cheap! Just leat me know.

Mine felt too big also, but when I pulled the side straps up over the hip bones, then it felt more snug. I don't wear it like the picture shows, otherwise it would just fall off.
Certainly not for everyone, and obviously not for every condition. It is also not something I would wear all the time, but does help on bulgy days for me.
I found I don't need it nearly as much since really working on whole woman. Jiggling and firebreathing do wonders for me, at least.

wow.. I wear a size 12 in pants and ordered a M..I went by the hip size. It is not here yet and I really hope it fits. I know if I hold my hand over vagina and push in it helps. What is jiggling and firebreathing?

Aging gracefully, I also tried pulling to up over my hips (not under as the picture showed), but I couldn't get the straps to stay up, they just kept slipping, and I had it adjusted to the snuggest fit (the back straps were totally doubled). Maybe there was a mistake in the sizing for that particular one, I don't know. I felt more support with my jeans on actually. Oh well.

I ended up loosening the straps in the back so I could get the side straps to stay up over the hips better. I also wear it over underwear so it doesn't slip so much. I also have a belly. Maybe that mimics the pregnancy look as these were originally made for them. Who knows. Sorry things aren't working so well for you. I really appreciate your honesty.

I wear a size 16 pants!! Hope yours fits tho. Mine may have been incorrectly sized.

The medium will probably be big on you then. Jiggling is good for us ladies with the more pronounced uterine prolapse. We bend over in like a downward dog style or touching a chair and jiggle away. If you haven't been practicing whole woman though, everything just comes back down. You need to get right back into whole woman posture where the organs are pinned Into the lower belly with the abdominal pressure. You will learn all this in your reading of the whole woman book.
Firebreathing is a deep breathing practice that really helps get organs up there. That is in the book, and there are excellent examples in the DVDs.
Your best bet right now is to start working on that posture. Walk before you run. Get a better understanding of it all. It does take time and patience.

I am 72 years old and have complete uterovaginal prolapse. I weigh about 185 and am 5'8" tall. (I know I need to lose about 30 pounds! I'm working on this!) I bought the V2 supporter mainly to wear if I'm on my feet, cleaning house, or taking a walk. I bought a size Large and it is very comfortable and seems to give me the support I need. I did tighten the straps once and I did notice more comfort after I washed it the first time. To keep the V2 from sliding off my hips, the panties under it are 100% cotton throughout, not just a cotton crotch, but 100% cotton. This makes the straps sit where I want them instead of sliding down. Hope this helps somebody. I don't know what I'd do without all of you and your suggestions and advice. I hope to live the rest of my life without "the surgery" and you're all helping me more than you know.

Glad you mentioned that, stillkicken.
I also wear the V-2 over the cotton underpants, and notice the same as you that they don't slide down so much. Thanks for bringing that up!

What's a V2 supporter? This is something new that I haven't heard about. - Coping

I have worn the v2 supporter on 2 different days. I only wore it while I was working and had to go shopping. I have the M and I might could wear the small.. I love the way it feels. It makes me feel more confident in moving around. I don't have that squishy feeling.I almost hate to take it off.. I still have not been to the doctor, but am reading everything I can find and I am really trying to work on the ww posture. I have ben trying so hard I am actually sore. I have so many questions and appreciate all of the input from you wonderful ladies.
