When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

Hi Bananabread,
welcome :-).
First of all I want to say, that Kegels don't work and sometimes they make things worse. So please read Christine's articels. She described why they don't work and she found a new form of Kegels that really can help with prolapse.
When the bulge you see is wrinkled, it should be a cystocele. What you can see is the front wall of your vagina. And not be able to empty your bladder properly can be a symptom of that.
I really think you should read more of the threads here and start with posture. That's the most important thing to manage a prolapse. It can help you emptying your bladder, too. There is a lot of very helpful information. Read more and than come back and ask some more questions.
You're not alone ;-).
Best wishes

Yeah, smash it, Bananabread, but I suggest that the Middle East is not the best place to do it publically!
You seem to have a good handle on what is happening in your vagina. With your cervix coming out of the back of your vagina it sounds like you have a retroverted uterus. This is very common, and many people think it causes lower back pain.
It is hard to find accurate pictures on the Net of the degree of retroversion possible, but mine was so retroverted that the cervix came out of the back wall and pointed straight upwards. I have never seen a picture of this but I know it was the case because I could feel it. It may not have been as apparent to a gynaecologist examining me. The tampons told the story. ;-)
Try these illustrations, http://chestofbooks.com/health/body/osteopathy/Manipulative-Surgery-Pelv... . Scroll down for the illustrations. The adhesions idea is an interesting one but I am not sure about the accuracy of the accompanying text. It does give you an idea of the variation that is possible.
BTW, mine flipped to normal presentation a few years before menopause, and my last couple of years of menstruation was so much less uncomfortable than my earlier reproductive life.
As you have had four babies it would not be unexpected to have a lower cervix. Some degree of prolapse seems to be normal once our bodies have had a baby and 'matured'. ;-)
Nobody really has a definitive cause for it, but I think forty or so years, from early teenage years, of holding my tummy in and tucking my butt under probably allowed my uterus to fall backwards, and started the prolapse process before I had even finished growing. It went back to retroverted after the births of my three babies. Had I known about WW posture and encouraged it back to anteverted after each birth, it may have repositioned itself much earlier. Enter Whole Woman posture about nine years ago, when my youngest was 17. It took years to flip forward, but it eventually did.

Taboo
I was doing a keyword search and your post came up BananaBread. I'm not sure if you are still posting or reading, but I thought I would throw out some of my ideas. I feel this subject is so taboo that even doctors don't bring up the subject. You can read about my experience at the GYN in my previous posts. The GYN that I went to didn't spend one second explaining to me about prolapse. She said I had a mild prolapse. "Mild" meant nothing to me and I think that it was insulting. I'm quite a bit older than you, in fact, I am old enough to be your mother, and never has a GYN, Primary Care Physician, or Urologist mentioned the word prolapse after the time that I finished having children. As for the mirror, I think that the women on the forum that have nursing backgrounds are probably more use to the pelvic anatomy because they had to know it to do their job. The rest of the population is unknowledgeable about the pelvis. I wish now that after I gave birth that someone had said to me to take a look at myself with a mirror once in a while, so that I would know the difference between a healthy pelvis and one that was prolapsing. I compare this to finding out that my sister had breast cancer. Even though I had been told to do a monthly breast exam, I would only do one when I had a mammogram appointment or right before a doctor's appointment, just to make sure that I could answer the question, "Do you do breast exams", with a "Yes". Now, I do the breast exam all of the time.
I too, can see wrinkled tissue after urinating, but I can see the pink bulging tissue right before urinating. I don't know enough about women's anatomy to say what is happening, but I do see an immediate change.
I think that the WW posture has helped me with the frequent urination. Before I came to this site I didn't even know how to completely empty my bladder, even though I had many appointments with a urologist last summer. What is that about? We can't even get basic instructions on how to take care of ourselves. I just thought that I had the overactive bladder feeling because I was irritated from laundry soap or soap that I used to bathe with. I eliminated all kinds of things from my diet and I still had overactive bladder.
Warm regards
