When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

OK Sherie, not wanting to sound like a broken record, but are you getting the idea that every question you ask has the same basic answer? Please learn WW posture and concepts, and then you'll be able to do whatever you want safely. You can't go through life asking if this is safe, if that is safe, one by one. Any particular thing can be either good or bad for prolapse depending on how it is being done. - Surviving

Doc visit
Well went to Doc and she advised me to go to an urologist. It seems like my bladder is behaving...(at least for the time being) she couldn't feel anything but noticed that I leaked. She wanted for me to have my spichtor checked? Not sure how it's spelled. She told me to not lift anything heavy and eventually I might need surgery....for a sling? All very confusing to me!

The sad thing is that the Docs say surgery when they don't know what else to do. I wouldn't go that route, especially after everything I have read here about the experiences that women have had. Even Christine had a bladder surgery years before she started whole woman that ended in a uterine prolapse. It seems the more they try to repair the more prolapses. Work on posture. Work on complete emptying of your bladder by leaning forward on the toilet or on all fours in the shower.
Did you even notice leakage before you went to the doc?
I think the best advice she gave you was no heavy lifting. That is bad for any prolapse.

I've always had a "weak"
I've always had a "weak" bladder. So it is not something that bothers me...I wear panty liners...been wearing them for a long time....It just seems like I drip a little more. I try to keep posture right. I do not want surgery!! I just want to really get to live the whole woman way! I just feel like I can't do too much because I'm afraid of feeling it drop again. It's like I keep thinking how it was before "it" appeared. I just am very active and I'm worried about not being able to do the things I use to do.....because I'm afraid to make it fall again. Have vacations planned and just worried that I'm not going to be able to enjoy them....

Take it one step at a time,
Take it one step at a time, Dizzydee,
Our organs are always on the move, so you may have days when they feel more to the surface, and days when it feels like it is more inside. Some women can go symptom free for very long periods of time. It all just depends on the person and severity of their prolapse, and how much ww work they put in. You may even find that the leaking will diminish while you are doing this work.
Not trying to be a salesman. I feel like I sound that way sometimes, but I really believe in this work.
With the help of the book to help me understand what was happening to me, the DVDs to help me better understand and work into the posture with those great exercises, and whole woman walking, jiggling and firebreathing..... This forum for its support, I have the confidence to get through this now.
You have time to take this at your pace, so get started my friend, you won't be sorry.

Firebreathing is in the book
Firebreathing is in the book and DVDs. Jiggling was created by one of our ladies on the forum. You bend over touching the floor or chair, jiggle, shake, jump up and down. Whatever feels right. This followed by firebreathing really helps get organs back inside. Get right back into whole woman posture which is the key to pinning those organs in place.
Don't know how that will affect your back though. Take is slow and easy with those bulging discs.

That's a good question.
That's a good question. Christine has an article on her blog, on tool bar, called, "just do yer kegels"
She explains how kegels are not good for prolapse.
I know I have heard of doing kegels for short term incontinence, but I don't know enough about that to advise you. There was one of our more experienced ladies who actually talked about it on here, but I don't know where it is. I think learning whole woman posture and good toileting practices would be the best thing to do right now. You wouldn't want to do anything to potentially make your prolapse worse at this time.
Maybe one of the ladies that knows more about this will come on to help you with this.

Kegels for incontinence?
I don't recall ever hearing from Christine that kegels were good for incontinence. Correct posture to help get the organs back into their natural configuration is the best thing for that. I do recall someone, I think Fab, saying that kegels could be good for incontinence, but I had the impression that she thought she was just quoting Christine in saying that. Possibly a misunderstanding or misreading of something? I'm really not sure, but for my money, there is no reason to do them and every reason not to. - Surviving

I wish I could find the post.
I wish I could find the post. It was Louise I think that was kegeling on her side. That kegeling might be good for short term incontinence, but definetly not long term prolapse management. I could be wrong, but I really thought I read it somewhere here.

Good information on that thread for someone who insists on doing them. I believe that Christine and Louise were not always in agreement on this particular topic. That's in another old thread somewhere, which I'm not even going to attempt to locate. - Surviving

I don't do kegels, and don't
I don't do kegels, and don't plan on ever starting them, because Christine makes a good argument and has the research behind it for me to believe that they aren't good for prolapse.
I just think Louise's take on it is interesting. Sorry I even brought it up. And, especially sorry if I caused any confusion for newbies, wasn't my intent, but I think these things really should be brought up and discussed from time to time.
You always seem so angry with me, surviving. I really am not trying to step on your toes!

AG, I'm so sorry. I was totally caught off-guard by what you said, and you're probably the last person I would want feeling that way about me. So if I've been coming across that way, it certainly isn't aimed at you of all people. In fact I rely on you heavily to keep the perspective of a newer member and also one with a different type of prolapse from what I can speak of with the benefit of personal experience. Where I sometimes get impatient is with newbies who just won't avail themselves of what's here, and instead want every speck of information spoon fed.....we all have to spend the time to study and learn. I have been impatient lately but NOT NOT NOT with you!!! Good heavens, I'll go crawl back into my den now........ Hugs to ya!

Kegals
Well I know as a newbie myself awhile ago and when you've just had a baby maybe we do just panic and rely on long term members to help with answers which probably are on here, but to be honest hormones everywhere I felt I couldn't cope at all so I thank people who took the time to tell me the obvious again. With regards to Kegals I know people who say it can reduces incontinenece and had good results my only worry when you tighten one muscle something else gives! From my experience I went to the hospital because my episiotomy wouldn't heal (nothing to do with prolapse and I hadn't done any Kegals) I started to do the Kegals and remembering saying to my mum I feel worse but I listened and carried on and then next minute I had a prolapse after 4 months of doing Kegals the pressure beyond belief commenced. Just what I have found but it's good to talk about and can understand it's hard because all of the success stories they splash about but to me the Physio lady who I met and who obviously Kegals all the time told me she had a rectolcele and look at all the woman who do them and the issues we have!!! Not to say I wasn't naive enough and did them and it may give some short term relief is what I believe personally :)

Posture FIRST
Hi Dear All,
Studying the posture & getting it down to second nature is paramount to then adapting the myriad of non posture related living / exercise / urinary problems / fun / challenges..........
Louise does just that based on the principles of WWP as a foundation reference fundamental...
And that goes for any exercise like hula - hooping...
I wanted to do group exercise as a way of dancing with women like Christine talks about in her DVDs. I found 2 (apart from swimming which is more of a lone exercise). Belly dancing & Hula hoop.
These two dance styles visually seemed to support the natural curve of the lumbar spine... NOT what I found when doing the one I chose over the other - the lovely belly dance teacher was willing to accommodate my need to not suck & tuck - they do slightly. They were concerned & convinced I had a problem with my back/health. As I went to classes there were other things that I noticed like not having the knee over the 2nd & 3rd toes, & another pronounced back to front hip circling exercise which my prolapse & hips hated.
The hula hoop teacher did not wish to deviate from her adamant stance to suck & tuck. They understandably believe what many have done & still do, that this protects the spine, so I do not blame them - going it alone for now seems to be the answer...
I have decided to concentrate on Christine's DVDs & am much better balanced, stronger, more flexible & my hip is healing, & body is evening up in symmetry. Everything else I do is from this foundation...
I will say that recently I realized that I have not been relaxing my lower belly as much as I thought I was & judge me if you must as I am nearly 2yrs into this work!! ( embarrassed feeling in stomach but here goes...)
I am highlighting & admitting this as it is paramount to understanding and doing the posture properly.
I was musing when observing myself sitting, how the position of the pubic bone actually supports the pelvic organs. I was looking at the pregnant woman before & after illustration in one of Christine's video, & then it hit home that I hadn't been relaxing my lower belly as much as I should, except when seated. Apologies to the ladies to whom I have said how easy it was to relax the lower belly, & many apologies to Christine for getting " relax the lower belly " wrong.
Mantra now is (1) RELAX lower belly & (2) LIFT chest More STRONGLY!!
Well one excuse - I think it is related to my conditioning for a flat/ ter tummy.... & unless one checks - there it is sneakily holding in however subtly!!
I now wear loose drawstring pants, go bra free at home, and sometimes out, and avoid the corset clothes industry, which is now selling body shaping suits everywhere, even advertising on a TV screen in the local supermarket....
If this helps people then my confession is worth my vulnerability/ embarrassment at putting it out there.
(((hugs))) &
Best Wishes to all,
Aussie Soul Sister
PS - going bra free as much as possible has one very important response - it makes me lift up my chest more... there are also health benefits...

Don't worry my dear......believe it or not, even now I occasionally find that tension creeps into my belly andI have to remember to let it go. This is a life-long journey we are on! I was probably at about your stage of the work when I kicked it up a notch. I wish everyone starting out with this work could see into the future a bit and realize that change comes slowly but continues for years!! Thank you for another great reminder, it all starts with posture and it takes time and patience to move from one level to the next. Visualizing the location of the organs really helps. It may sound silly but it's much more than a mind game, it really helps when you're trying to reshape and remold and reinvent yourself. - Surviving

Sounds good, dizzydee!! The sooner you get started, the better you will feel! Just remember to pace yourself. I was a little over zealous with some of the exercises on the DVDs in the beginning and ended up straining a knee. I slowed down after that, and now I can do all of them easily. So many great things you are going to learn!!! Just remember, the posture is the key result here.
Best wishes to you!!
