Rectocele (I think)

Body:

I've been really ill for 2 yrs from coming off Benzodiazepene and pain killers for my spine. It's affected every organ in my body. I've had spleen inflammation and pain, high ferritin iron, and my acupuncturist tells me the spleen is responsible for prolapse. I've had a total hysterectomy and saw on the internet rectocele is common in women with hysterectomies (great!)

I thought I had a bad hemorrhoid as I've had it bad throughout this process, but a month ago I woke up with a feeling of fullness like I had to poop all the time, and it got much worse. I have swelling in the bottom of my vagina, so I assume it's rectocele. I'm going to see my doctor on the 5th.

My question is, is that where rectocele prolapses in the vagina? On the bottom? I can put my fingers in there and feel the swelling on the downside of my vagina inside. I've looked at pics, but can't determine if this is correct. I know they say posterior swelling, but the vagina isn't horizontal standing so I'm confused.

Thanks for any responses. This is rough, I've been sick with bad nerve pain in legs, and muscle cramps in spine and legs, and this on top if it just is awful.

Hugs, Blossom

Hi Blossom and welcome,
It does sound like what you are describing is a rectocele. Since you have had a hysterectomy, you will want to proceed with this work gently. Christine is coming out with a new video for the post hyst ladies out there that should prove to be very helpful, but in the meantime, do as much reading on this site as you can to famaliarize yourself with this work.
Best wishes.

AG,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been so ill for 2 yrs and this is so stressful, all I can do today is cry. I read something about posture, is there a link on the site how to do it? It will be hard, my lordosis is gone from a spinal fusion and other spine surgeries.

Blossom

Hi Blossom,
You may want to have a consult with Christine to see how you should proceed with your paricular limitations. She might have some insight that we on the forum wouldn't know about.

Hi Blossom,

I can't address all your issues but I definitely CAN recommend drinking coconut water for leg cramps.

Thanks ladies, as for the leg cramps they are caused from my CNS, damage from the benzos, so it just takes time. Don't know if I can afford a consult right now, would like to though.

Blossom

Welcome to Whole Woman. You do have a number of issues and this is not a medical forum, but most likely it is in fact the hyst. that has caused your rectocele, as that is indeed quite a common result which doctors never warn you about.

Are you able to relax your belly and pull your shoulders up comfortably? This is the beginning of a return to natural posture which helps restore lower lumbar curvature and organ support. This is of course a longer road when you have no uterus to act as the hub of the wheel, so to speak. As AG mentioned, Christine's next big release for post-hyst. women is going to be your best bet here.

I'm wondering if you are deficient in magnesium? Some epsom salts baths may help your muscle cramps, and/or supplementing with one of the better-absorbed forms of magnesium that doesn't have a bowel-loosening effect. - Surviving

Surviving, yes I take magnesium citrate daily. Yes i can pull up my shoulders reasonably well. Do you have links on how to do the posture?

Thanks, Blossom

Hi Blossom,
There isn't a specific link about posture, but Christine has just come out with the video Whole Woman fundamentals that teaches the very basics of posture. You can find it in the whole woman store, but again please proceed with caution considering your background.

I agree wholeheartedly with AG -- the Fundamentals series is an affordable way to start getting a handle on the posture.

The Post-Hysterectomy product that Christine references in the Posture Fundamentals video, has not yet been released to the Store. I'd recommend starting with the Fundamentals now, before any more time goes by, then waiting for the new Post-hyst video to appear. As a registered Forum member, you will receive updates! - Surviving
