Returning after a few years

Body:

Hello Ladies,

I hope I am posting this in the right place. I'll try to keep it brief. I purchased Christine's book and DVD around 2011 or 12 ? I started doing the exercises but my knees were deteriorating from arthritis, and since I can't kneel or sit crosslegged I stopped trying after a while. Fast forward. Just got my knees replaced in March and May, and am interested in returning once I'm healed. I have been experiencing a lot of pelvic aching over the past week. Feels like period cramps, but no blood. I am way past menopause (age 62) but that's what it feels like.

I'm wondering if other women have experienced a dull persistent aching in their uterus as a symptom of prolapse issues. I had an endometrial ablation in 2006, and was diagnosed with rectocele and some cystocele probably in 2010 ...

Wondering if I'm feeling more pain right now because I've been lying down or sitting so much over the past two months. I have an exam next week with the midwives to rule out cancer or whatever.

This aching feels similar to a sensation I had in my 40s, after giving birth to four kids. I would be walking on the beach with my husband, a long walk, and this aching would start, and I couldn't describe it exactly. No doctor had an answers or suggestions. I think I was starting symptoms then but it took a while to present.

Okay this is long and I don't even know if it's in the right spot. I would appreciate feedback especially regarding aching pelvic pain, and do some of these exercises not involving the knees help with that?

Very grateful to all.

Hi Forest Queen - let me start by asking, did you achieve the transition to WW posture before you had your knees replaced? The exercises can be modified, but it's the posture that counts. - Surviving

No, I was out of my depth. I did watch the DVD a couple dozen times and tried to follow along, I read the book, but I got discouraged. Firebreathing was confusing (which was in, which was out) and I couldn't kneel or sit. I think I understand the concept of the posture but I couldn't tell if I was doing it. There was a gap of at least three years before the time I was attempting to do WW, and the knee replacements, one of which was this month. (the other in March) Thanks.

Hi The Forest Queen,
You may want to get some additional help as in getting a consult with a whole woman practitioner in your area, or a skype. They are very good at evaluating your posture on can explain things very thoroughly. Sometimes people just need that little extra attention.

I agree.....this isn't first and foremost an exercise program. The posture and breathing principles are central to the work, and must be followed while doing these or any exercises, if the goal is to learn prolapse management. I would recommend going back to First Aid for Prolapse DVD again, regardless of how many times you have viewed it. The instructions are pretty clear. Sounds like you haven't revisited it for several years. Fresh eyes may help. Good luck! - Surviving

I appreciate your taking the time to answer my query. Very common sense response. I shall FIND the dvd now and review it. Blessings xo
