Just read book and have some questions

Body:

I just read Christine's book, and a few questions popped into my mind. 1) When would Christine recommend using a pessary? (I've been told that I have stage 2 uterine prolapse, but don't currently feel it.) 2) I've heard there is also a video/DVD, how do I purchase this? 3) I've been doing pilates and yoga to deal with back problems unrelated to my prolapse. I'd really hate to give them up what Christine has listed on her website? Can I do an active (nonpassive) backbend? 4) I have lordosis and in the posture you are supposed to arch your lower back into its natural curve. That won't work for me since my curve would be too large. Any suggestions about this?

Sorry for all the questions. I just feel like there is a lot to learn. Thanks for answers in advance.

Hi Pacific,

Women really need to navigate through the pessary issue on their own. As I say in the book, they are helpful for some percentage of women, but there is no predicting who those women will be. Every woman needs to go through the pessary drill for herself to see if she can find one that works. I think it’s safe to say that most of the women here do not use them regularly.

The dvd can be easily purchased from the Whole Woman store

I’ve done the best I can to provide some guideline (appendix four in the book) to beneficial exercise for the female spine and pelvis. I think if you really understand the importance of the posture in everyday activity you can bend any way you want, providing you don’t sense any adverse pressure on your pelvic outlet.

The posture isn’t about arching the lumbar spine. That’s just the most predominate change that happens for many of us. It is more about creating a natural abdomen through which thoracic pressures can flow. Let your spine find its natural curvature by pulling up through your head and chest while walking with your feet pointing straight ahead.

Hope this helps,

:-) Christine
