Colonoscopy and Rectocele

Body:

Help! My doc told me that because I am 53 I should have a colonoscopy as a routine procedure. I was diagnosed with a stage 2 rectocele about a month ago after having some pretty severe pressure and pain with sex. I am terrified of the thought of anyone messing with what already has been quite sensitive. I think the prep part is the part that alarms me the most. I have also recently read some alarms from the companies that make the prep treatments that renal failure has been linked to them. This discourages me from the procedure at all. Any input? Thanks.

The only thing I can tell you is that after having the runs for 24 hours straight my rectocele was worse- droopier - and my perineum was also very sore.......but now a full day later I feel fine again (hooray)
So I think if you go forward with it you can expect it to get worse for the duration of the prep but then get better in a day or so.....

Thanks for the help. I have been dreading the idea of causing more pain to an area that is just starting to get better. Or maybe I just needed an excuse....
