lumps on labial lips

Body:

I have lumps and bumps and raggedy edges on one of my labial lips. I feel sure this has something to do with my current discomfort. It's nearer my anus and somethimes I think there is swelling at one side. I've been reading about Bartholin glans and wondered if it could be something to do with that?

Then again, maybe I'm just still in denial about my blinking prolapse and am looking for any other thing it could possibly me. My prolapse is pretty minor, still within my vagina but my labial lips gap all the time. Don't know whether I'm just obsessing and need to leave it alone and get on with it or if I need to press for more investigation.

Any thoughts of similat experiences much appreciated. By the way, funny date on this post. It is in fact 2nd April.

Hi Tinyshinythings

I imagine the tags of skin are hymen remnants but sorry, I can't help you with the lump or the swelling, though the swelling (or as I experienced it, assymetry) may be a manifestation of POP. I no longer have that sensation.

However, I think it is always worth getting any lump checked out. I would be going for diagnosis to a doctor or nurse practitioner who deals in women's genital areas all the time, not a general practitioner. I would suggest a sexual health clinic. Once you know what it is you can work out what to do about it, if any treatment is needed.

Cheers

Louise

Thanks Louise

Nothing as exotic as a sexual health clinic in this backwater I'm afraid. I am on the gynae waiting list though. I am going to let the doc have a look on Monday. At least she's a woman. Last doc told me I didn't have herpes. I must have looked a bit shocked. It hadn't even occured to me. I'm a quiet middle aged lady from a seaside town but I guess you just never know. He did have the good grace to add that I wasn't in a high risk group so there's a comfort.
