new idea to try

Body:

I am totally new to the forum but today I found that when I sat in my chair if I sat right back with my back against the back of the lazy boy chair and my feet flat on the floor I felt really good - everything felt in its place - I wonder if anyone else can try this and see if I am right?? It seems to work in my swivel chair here at the computer too - -
I have worked thru some of the dvd and although I cannot do any of the floor exercises the rest of it is OK - the idea of not lowering completely to the loo is wonderful - I cannot see me ever being a dancing fairy - but - you never know - I am feeling so good today - I hope it will last. Now I am saving to get the book - money is tight so I have to save for it then I will buy it - elcie

The thing about sitting is to keep in posture, keep the lumbar curve in place. Sometimes it helps to put something in the small of your back to assist with this. Just don't let your spine collapse. I'm picturing a lazy boy chair and I fear that you may have your body in something of an obtuse angle (i.e., leaning back a bit) when you sit as you describe - not the ideal. Just be mindful. Can't wait until you get the book! - Surviving

oh no - I am very careful to sit right back and be straight in the chair - Today I got all my swivel chairs dropped a bit so I can sit with my feet on the floor - most of them were too high and my feel dangled down or I put them on the struts on the legs. Going to start tackling the exercises tomorrow - will put a big cushion behind my bottom to keep me off my legs - I cant sit on my heels - no way -
One thing I am noticing is the wind - I keep blowing off - - -is this normal???? elcie

Hmmmmm. interesting question. I've always felt the opposite was true for me. I think that gas has been less likely to escape since being in posture, which I've attributed to the organs being more supported towards the front of the body, instead of being pushed downward. Overall I suspect that the posture does not, of itself, make one "windier"; maybe we'll get some more opinions on this. Have you changed your diet lately?- Surviving

I have made no changes in my diet lately - feeling a bit droopy today - relax those muscles - -sometimes it is so hard ro get my body to do what I want it to - ordered the book - cant wait to get that now as doing the exercises using the dvd is a bit awkward when Hubby is around all the time and the dvd player is in the lounge - I am quite private about my body parts and dont like him to watch me - - elcie
