CYSTOCELE

Body:

I was wondering if anyone has a cystocele that is severe. By that meaning protruding outside of the vagina. I am very concerned with this situation and wanted to know if there is still a chance that this site could help or if it was too late for that. Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi Kepi

Any pressure on the inside of the vulva feels awful. I don't fit into this category but there are doubtless Members who do. How far does your bladder come outside your vulva? Is it like that constantly? When is it fully inside your vulva?

Are you well set in WW posture? I see that you have been around here for 2 years or so and I am wondering if you have been working with a beautiful posture and the DVDs. There is always still a chance....always hope, and after 6 months here now, I am a believer that the answer is indeed the posture. Are you on track with that and still suffering the severe cyst symptoms? My best wishes to you!

Thank you for your replys...when i first noticed it i joined and bought the book and DVDs..and after a while i just got away from it...i really wasnt aware that it might get worse..now that it is ...ive started the posture and exercises again but was wondering if anyone had any luck with this type of situation. I really hate the thought of surgery....and wanted to see if anyone else had any results at this stage.

Hi Kepi - I would venture to say that most of us here with cystocele probably experience it at or beyond the opening at least some of the time. What grade or stage yours is at, is a very subjective thing, and moving around all the time. If you're noticing it's getting worse, keep working on posture/exercise/firebreathing and good habits. You can do a self-diagnosis from the book, and/or give us more information here to try and figure out where you stack up against others. - Surviving

Hi Surviving60..Im stage 3...and I notice it beyond the opening most of my standing time. Not always at the same level. I notice when i use the posture its not as bad. So Im going to try this first before i would opt for surgery. I really have to teach myself the firebreathing and posture. Ive just recently started this so Im wondering if im even doing it correctly. I dont have pain or incontinence but i do feel like i have to empty my bladder more often. Hopefully this will help my situation. Thank you for your reply and info.

Hi Kepi. I am new here but my mom has a protruding bladder. Unfortunately, she didn't know about this site or posture. She has been dealing with a worsening of this condition for about 15 years. She doesn't have pain but does need to visit the bathroom often. She was wearing a girdle to try not to let things fall lower but now after finding this site we can see that the girdle, while holding things "up" somewhat, is also holding her stomach IN, which isn't good at all. She has begun trying the posture just in the last week or so and also sitting with a pillow behind her and helping to put her into the right posture. She still has the protrusion every day, sometimes worse than others but she said that she notices a difference already in how tiring her day becomes. She intends to continue the posture and exercises in hopes that she will improve. Best wishes to you.......

Hi Kepi, have you had any other surgical repairs, or hysterectomy? This is relevant but sometimes women forget to mention it at the beginning. - S60

Hi Surviving60...No I havent had any surgical repairs...or hysterectomy.....but today ...all day ..Ive been running for groceries...cards...etc...and practicing the posture the whole time...and no protrusion today so far!!!!!!!!!...that gives me hope...sorry to hear about your mom...petrified52...but she sounds like she is having an improvement....and thats good...I hope she continues to go in that direction....and Im keeping my fingers crossed that I will do the same....:)

Awesome Kepi that you had such a good day. Early results like this are a very good indication that WW posture is going to help you. But it doesn't mean that you won't have bad days and setbacks. You know this works, so just keep it up, and don't get discouraged when symptoms fluctuate. Yay for you!! - Surviving

Thank you!!! the evening wasnt as good as the day...but still not as bad as it has been....Im going to go into this with a positive attitude...and hope for the best....I know the bad days will be there...and the setbacks too...but I have to do something...and this is the best thing right now....so...how long have you been surviving?....

Well, I've been here for about 2-1/2 years. At the time I was hoping to "survive" the shock of simultaneously turning 60 and discovering prolapse. I must say that I have moved from surviving to thriving in that time. - S60

That's great news...I've been reading other sites..and most of them say that once you are grade 3...the only thing you can do is prevent grade 4 ...or have surgery...depressing....not what i was looking for...
