Heavy in the pelvic area

Body:

Hello ladies. I have been mostly just reading posts here for a couple of days. I had a pretty good day yesterday. I did a big load of grocery shopping, mostly in posture, I think. I came home and put everything away and cooked dinner. I stayed on my feet until about 10pm. Today, I have that heaviness in the lower pelvic area and it is becoming more annoying as the day goes on. I can't seem to get comfortable. I did my older woman video exercises this morning and ordered the regular DVD this afternoon. I will then pass the other video to my mom. Do any of you have this pulling and heavy feeling on a regular basis and what do you do about it? That feeling is what prompted the doctor to have me get an ultrasound, thinking that I had an ovarian cyst, before I had my pelvic exam and got the diagnosis of prolapsed bladder and uterus. Thankfully, nothing is "out" and I want to do my best to keep it that way. Still patiently waiting to get my book. I know that they are going to be mailed out in a few days. I do find that if I have any stomach gas from the increase in fiber in my diet, it makes the heavy feeling worse. I have been very regular in the bathroom and it has been a true blessing as I have had difficulties in that area for a large part of my life. Just looking for some insight from all you experienced ladies. Thanks a bunch........

Yes, I too have that heaviness feeling, but it has lessened over time with the posture. I have not been able to tell what causes it to worsen but I am super posture aware when it comes on. The Prolapse DVD does seem to help me and I try not to go too many days without doing it. I hope your book and DVD come soon. Best wishes to you!

Yes gas is a big issue. Just like stool it pushes the other organs and with uterine prolapse becomes more difficult to pass. The trick to it is juggling the right fibre and the right amount of fibre so that you avoid the accumulation of gas. I limited my diet to exclude those things that give me gas. I think this is possibly an individual thing, but for me personally it means I have reduced my consumption of fibre and exclude beans and pasta especially. I also limited oxalates like tea and spinach and parsley.

I am more your mother's age than yours and I found it important to take probiotics to replace the good flora in the gut.

It really is worth working on eliminating gas as far as possible for it does push your organs down.

best wishes
