Zelda: My "anniversary" came and went

and the voices in my head and heart have been urging me to reconnect with this precious sorority (Thank you Goldfinch - I think I'll adopt that).

McKenzie back extensions

Is anyone familiar with the McKenzie technique of back extensions for lower back problems? I used to do them regularly and they helped me get through a bad time with my back. They are either done by bending backwards while standing up or by getting down on the floor and pressing the upper body back. (It looks like you're doing a push-up incorrectly.) They are great for the triceps, which hold up your weight for a few seconds.

Another use for balms!

My 3 year old was having some trouble a while back with accidents and she wasn't telling me so she was getting red and irritated. I decided to try using Christine's valva balm on her and it worked wonderfully! The redness and irritation cleared right up. Now she says are you going to put some of your special cream on me LOL!!

Vaginal Cramping with Hot Flashes

When I get a hot flash, it begins with a cramping in my vagina (not uterus), which sometimes is severe enough to be really uncomfortable. It wakes me up (of course). After the cramping, the overheated feeling sweeps over me, like a traditional hot flash.

I can't find any mention of this kind of cramping anywhere, and I'm wondering if it's somehow connected to the cystocele, rectocele, and prolapse of the vaginal vault that I have.

Any thoughts, folks? Thanks.

Goldfinch: One Year

It was one year ago today that I became a member of this forum. My uterus had prolapsed the week before. I was 58 ½ years old. I was very constipated that morning and was pushing terribly hard. Down it came. Maybe if I’d known then what I know now I could have prevented it from happening. Hindsight is always 20/20. But it happened and life goes on.

Ups and Downs

Is it typical for those of us with POP to have days or weeks of improved symptoms and then to regress? I seemed to be getting so much better, but today my cystocele gave me little "leaks" four times during the day. I wonder if even decaffeinated coffee irritates the bladder because of the acidic pH. Other than that, I wonder if I will ever get over this incredible frustration!

There is hope

Hello everyone:

WW posture helps and has become second nature!

Just thought I'd share....!

The first few days, weeks, even months were very hard...my back ached and I consciously had to think about my posture. But now it is second nature and my POP and pelvic pain isn't as bad as in the beginning. I also love my "more womanly" shape given by the WW posture - someone even noticed the other day and that felt good!

Help/advice/tips for my sister - 36wks pregnant with #4

Hi everyone

I haven't been on this site for a little while, apart from a bit of reading here and there...have been going through my own rollercoaster journey with this thing, and also very busy with what life is bringing me.

However, my sister is due to have her fourth baby in a few weeks and I'm wondering if you can offer her any tips on getting through labour and delivery with least damage to her pelvic organs.
