Is a cramping pain normal?

Hi,
I have been told I have a rectocele, although I am wondering if its really a enterocle, because of where
I feel a bulge. Maybe I have both, cause I don't have a normal bowel movement. I go then right after I stand up I have to go again, this goes on a few times...

Well anyway I was wondering if its normal to feel constant pain in the abdominal area. It feels like bad menstrual cramps. Its with me all the time. Do you all have this?
I would like to have a second opinion on what is really going on, I am trying to find a different doctor.

If you all have this type of cramping pain then I won't feel so worried. There is not much on line about the pain part, and what type of pain, mine is cramping type.

Christine and your daughter

Christine
I was reading your wonderful book last night and I see your daughter is in Sacramento. I live right outside of Sac, does she know of a good women doctor there?

estradiol vaginal cream

I have a rectocele and I have three questions that I hope someone can shed some light on.

1. I am wondering is there any benefit to using a vaginal cream such as Estrace, will it strengthen the pelvic floor muscles? I really don't want to use it. I have had it for over a year and not used it. Maybe this is one of the reason's I got a rectocele? This is what the doctor would have me believe.

2. Is there one sleeping position better then another?

3. The doctor said that there is an 80% of recovery from my rectocele if I do kegals 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes at night, and if I come in twice week for six weeks and have this pelvic floor therapy. The therapy has to do with some kinda equipment that exercises that area, I think he said something about electrical stimulation. After my exam he told me about what a rectocele was and he said if I had come in last week he would have suggested surgery but now he wouldn't suggest that ( he's evolving eh?) He just got back from a big conference where he learned about this pelvic floor therapy and would suggest that instead of the surgery.

A new discovery for me so I need your input ladies

So I have been really good and not looking in the damn mirror for a long time. But of course today I did. I have a small amount of flesh (not a bulge though) and its very loose. Its at the bottom so I know its not my cystocele. My uterous is up because I can feel it. Im thinking its related to a rectocle. Its kind of pointing out. Its loose flesh. What the heck could it be? HELP me ladies. I never noticed it before.

Should I get a c-section?

Ladies:

I am almost 22 weeks pregnant right now. From delivery with my son (in June 2005), I got a cystocele & uterine prolapse. Pretty bad. Bothers me on a daily basis when not pregnant - mainly a constant urge to pee. WIth this pregnancy, I've had some leakage, too.

I am terrified about making the prolapses worse with this delivery. I can "live" with my conditions as they are now but life would be unbearable if they were any worse.

Please share any information regarding rectocele and enterocele surgical repairs and/or alternative to surgery

Hi Everyone = I'm new to this site and am hopeful that perhaps I could get some practical real life information regarding rectocele and enteroceles. Following a defecography I was diagnosed with both. I have been suffering with bowel related issues for years now and lately it's become quite a process to empty my bowels. I have never had children and am in my early 40's. My problem is that it takes several attempts to move my bowels and more often than not it feels like I'm not completely finished although I've passed stool. I continually have to push down on my upper left side and massage my abdomin to help the bowel move along and out.

uterus prolapse or digestion thing?

Hi

i've been posting here for about a year. (I have a bladder prolapse that hadn't changed much in a year)

But this week i've felt something different very suddently. It feels like a hard cylindrical rock, sort of penis shaped.( hope that's not too much information!)

And it feels as if it's attached from the top of the back wall but it's descended down so that i can feel it about two inches into my vagina.

Really anxious that maybe i've suddenly got my second prolapse. Stay calm, breathe breathe : )

Hoping instead it may be some sort of intestinal issue from the begginning of my ayurveda cleanse thing. Could it be the descending colon. And is this ok - a sort of digestive issue that can resolve itself?

What am I looking at down there?

OK. I am confused and hoping for some wisdom... I have no idea how things looked down there before having my kids (I kick myself for this), but I do not know what to make of how things look down there now. I feel like I should have kept an archive of how my privates looked before and after each kid (easy enough with digital cameras). Maybe I should start that now (better late then never).

Anyway, When I look at pictures/sketches in books, they all show a "hollow" area (or an opening). Well, I do not have an opening down there (I started looking about a year ago). All I see in the vaginal opening is the uretha and then some "flesh". I always ask doctors about prolapse and they tell me I am fine. And I am fine -- I do not have the symptoms that I read about in other posts (fullness, low back pain, sensation of something falling out, etc.), but sometimes things just do not feel right and I have no way of describing it. So doctors tell me it's all in my head, everything is good. And I am happy to hear that, I am not complaining. Maybe it's because they do the exams so fast that I do not feel like they are really taking the time to look/evaluate it properly. It's not like I've been seeing doctors just because I am paranoid -- this is just something I bring up in my yearly exams.

Any advice welcome

Hi, I'm going to be starting going to the gym twice a week soon and I wondered whether anyone here goes to the gym and what exercises are OK and what exercises should be avoided so as not to aggravate the prolapse. I think stomach crunches aren't good, what about weightlifting? Stepping should be OK? Aerobics?
Cheers,
Wendy
