I do not want surgery

I'm new in this forum . I have been reading this site for 3 monthes, I'm 52, I have 2 children vaginal deliveries,I was diagnosed with uterine prolapse, cystocel, rectocel and front vaginal wall prolapse. One docter said a grade 2 other grade 3 and other 75% prolapse. I tried pessary, didn't work, the instead cups didn't work eather, sea sponge usually stays but some times comes out , I have a V2 support belt and fembrace belt but I don't like it, it is too tight on my belly.
I have been doing the exercises of the D.V.D.every day, the posture and I'm trying to change my eating habits.
I went to 6 different doctors, they don't offer alternatives, just surgery they give no hope.

Question for you experienced ones

So I have a question about a rectocele since I am new at discovering mine and feel really dumb. So the cystocele i understand because its right at the opening and I can see it and feel it. But my question is...
Why can I only feel my rectocele when my bowels have feces in them. As soon as they are empty, I dont have any bulges anymore that I can feel. Do your bulges stay there all the time even when you dont have to have a bm? I dont think mine do or I wouldve discovered it long ago. I had trapped bm and thats how I found it. What can you tell me ladies.

Risks and Results of Surgery

I would like to say hello to everyone on this site.Although I have not posted previously, I have been reading your posts for over a year. It is wonderful knowing that I am not alone in my distress.I am praying for all the ladies on this site.I was diagnosed with a stage 2 rectocele over one year ago.Like so many of you, I was devastated.I have always tried to eat well, and exercise. This totally took me by surprise.I was also going through the deaths of my sister, mom, and others in my family at the same time. This was another blow I felt I could not handle.I did not even have time to pay attention to this.

Men have a mysterious condition too...

This is so strange but I thought it might me helpful to know that men also suffer from a genital condition that is likewise controversial (treatment is non-existent or disputed and cause is unknown-debated) and something the Drs. call "their worst nightmare"...
Several years ago my husband began to notice a thickening in his penis...almost like a new vein and his penis began to bend. We had NO idea and he sought treatment only to find there really isn't one. They also don't know why someone gets this. They think it is a plaque build up of some kind--kind of an auto-immune attack, or that there was an injury--my husband road cross country bike for years--no real idea...I remember he went to the U of Minnessota a couple of times to try these injections--they didn't work...At first the condition was painful and of course worrisome since it began to bend unnaturally but over time it seemed to be okay...it also happened that he had an enlarged prostate causing urination problems! Over time though the pain abated and the prostate issue which was the most bothersome!! had been managed out of symptoms...his personal condition wasn't terribly difficult. The bending stopped--didn't get worse and the pain stopped and the prostate was managed so we "forgot" about it.

Dumb question about restoceles

Hi ladies,
Boy am I having a bad day. I felt alot of pressure and knew I needed to go to the bathroom. I never get constipated so this was odd to me. The doc said I had a mild restocele but I didnt believe him. I couldnt see it or feel it. My cystocele is at the vagina opening so that I see. But today, I stuck my finger in my vagina and whamo, a bulge along the back wall of the vagina. So thats where my feces is hiding. I pushed on it and my feces passed. I am so freaked out right now. Please educate me on restoceles. My bulge went away and I dont ever see it in my opening.
So what does all this mean? And tell me how the exercise helps this? I feel very dumb and scared right now and need you ladies more than ever.

do you all really not drink alcohol?

I have only ever drank socially - and have been avoiding it since prolapse- even at my sisters engagement party-
but damned if I don't miss it.
I don't know - going out for a drink with my girlfriends just isn't as fun if I don't have the drink.
and I also enjoy a nice glass of wine if I am out with my husband- Like our anniversary dinner.
So I guess I am asking - is special occasion drinking an indulgence that is probably ok maybe every other month?

Why exactly should alcohol be avoided?

PRAYERS FOR SUE

Hi All,

I posted a message on the forum home page about Sue's surgery, but wanted to start a thread for her too.

GET WELL SOON, Sue!!

Lots of love,

Christine

Can riding a recumbent indoor bike be harmful to your prolapse?

I bought a recumbent bike to ride since I was told using weights/a weight station/ was actually contributing to me uterine prolapse. I have been riding it every other day to help keep in shape. It doesn't bother me but could I be doing harm? I am really working to improve my prolapse condition with the exercises on the Saving the Whole Women DVD. Comments?

low middle high

Has anyone else heard of this sort of segregation in reference to a rectocele? I read it recently and figured that there are probably different locations for a rectocele. Mine is super low- and not that it hangs low from the middle or up high- it just is low-
like right at the opening- and about the size of the lower 1/5th of the back vaginal wall.
