just having a bad day

having a bad day here. been feeling pretty constant rectal pressure all day long and, well, it's depressing as can be to me. as well as really uncomfortable. not really aware of the vaginal bulge piece but -- yeesch -- the pain in my ass is literally a pain in my ass today.

yes, i've been out and about with my 7 year old all day, but come on! is this really how it's going to look when i have a day wandering the city with my daughter? i'm thinking i'm going to head to the gym now only because i think it might do something for my mental health. i don't feel tired or weary at all, so it seems like an okay idea.

Lumbar back brace

I was just wondering if using a back brace designed to support the lumbar curve would help with learning the right posture? I'm still a little confused as to the correct posture, even after reading the FAQ's many times and really want to do it right. Once we have more money, I'm going to buy the DVD and hope that helps some too, but was just curious about the back brace. Thanks.

Rectocele and Entercele

I am 52 years old. I have been told that I have rectocle and entercele and need surgery. On a level of l to 5 (5 being the worst) I am at level 5. I am looking for information about these conditions. What is the hospital stay time and recovery time? I am sexually active and some things I have read have not been incouraging concerning sexual activity after the surgery.

fire breathing and rectoceles

hi everyone:

so i've been looking around the site tonight and i'm starting to read about the fire breathing work. i'm very interested in exploring this and wondering about women's repsonses to it who have rectoceles and have tried it.

i'm also curious about how slowly people start off. i see christine suggests working up to 5 to 10 minutes twice a day. maybe starting with a few breaths morning and night? i tried it before and i assume the out breath should be rather loud as one is forcefully exhaling.

any observations/thoughts/input with it would be great. i'm excited to start experimenting with this.

hope for cystocel?

Hi
I am a 35 year old who has a 6 month old and knew something felt different all along--it just goes to show that it is true that you know your own body better than you think! My family doctor finally diagnosed me with cystocel after 2 previous exams and him telling me everything looked "normal." I thought I was going crazy as if I was imagining things. I had been trying to self diagnose--everything from damage done due to having an episiotomy, etc., I feel I have been hanging on by a thin thread here since I just got word that my specialist appointment is in 4 months! I was a runner before and want to take some action but I feel I am in limbo. Is there any hope of this condition improving after I stop breastfeeding or as time passes? All my friends who have had babies recently seem to be completely back to normal and feel great.

how are the pg mama's doing?

I know there's a few of us here, was interested in hearing how everyone's prolapses are doing.

I am happy to report that I feel great. If I go looking for my cystocele/rectocele I can feel them right where I left them before I got pg, and they cause me no trouble (aside from some rectocele pressure if I neglect my diet). everything down there is all pg-swollen anyway so I'm not even 100% sure what's what. I try not to go looking to often. I'm walking on the treadmill most every day and trying to maintain upper body posture as well as I can and keeping my hamstrings from getting too tight on me. uterus, of course is nice and high.

I think I tempted fate :-(

For the first time in a long while - I can feel it...

Might be cos over christmas my period is a day or two late (No not that reason lol)

Might be stress or the fact I have done alot more in these past few days...

Hmmmmmmm

Either way - If i do the 'finger test' I can feel the cystocele - and I can always feel it - Just not the much lol...

Time to do less - rest up a little and not carry reallllllllly heavy bags of rubbish out for bin man tomorrow - lol

emailing from forum

I haven't used the emailing function on the forum much and am wondering if it works. I sent messages through the forum to Maya, Jean, and MermaidDrowning in hopes of getting their input on the subject of rectocele stabilization. Has anyone successfully used the forum email?

Just diagnosed rectocele: help with exercise, hope

I was just diagnosed with a rectocele (1st degree) and a cystocele. I have been very depressed since my gynecologist didn't have much to say other than "do Kegels, don't do any heavy lifting, stop breastfeeding to increase estrogen, and hold off as long as possible for surgery". I am 38 and just had my 3rd baby a few months ago. She said it's rare for someone my age to have this problem. I feel very alone, "old", and scared. I was so looking forward to the new year to start a commited program to get back into shape....now I am petrified to do anything that may worsen my condition. How do I exercise without causing more damage? How can I strengthen my abdomen without creating internal abdominal pressure that will make things worse? I am confused as to how I should sit properly? bend over to pick something off the floor? bend down to see a product on the bottom shelf at the store? how do I pick up my 2 year old safely? how do I carry my infant in a baby sling safely? I would like to adopt the proper technique to safely do "everything" from living to exercising but I am petrified to train my body to do something over and over that will do more damage to my rectocele and cystocele.

rectocele, periods, and feeling down

not really sure where this would go, so i'll just put it here.

i have my period at the moment -- the end of it. my periods have been so very very heavy for the last year and a half. that's actually what led to the d&c i had in early october where i also had polyps removed. which led about six weeks later to the rectocele becoming apparent. (i suspect i had been asymptomatic for some time and the surgery was just the final weakening.) i was diagnosed right after my last period, so this is the first one i'm really getting through with the rectocele and its been rough. rough rough rough.
