Looking for specific info on how to improve

Body:

Greetings, I am new to this style of communication so forgive my errors. After my 4th baby in Oct/06 I noticed the vaginal bulge, spoke to my midwife about it a couple times (I knew I had a uterine prolapse but I never really "knew" about it) and did not get a diagnosis from her. She checked me laying down and kept feeling the position of my uterus and letting me know it wasn't too bad. When I spoke to my physician she mentioned a pessary but that it was for "little old ladies" and then asked if I would consider surgery? I said I needed to do some research. Thank God for the librarian that ordered Christine's book. I read it inside out (like me! ha!) and felt angry and disappointed at the lack of information I recieved. I have since had further discussions with both midwife and physician. I feel like this is the big secret being kept from girls/women. With Christine's information I figured I have a cyctocele and it is one that reaches the labia at the end of the day. Can it go past this point? I have ordered the DVD and am hoping to get information on how to improve. I have the posture on my bathroom mirror now. However as I am reading your entries there are many references to the work that you can do and I would like to know if this work/info is available on the website so I can get started. I figure that when I am driving there must be a certain posture to assume, when I am washing dishes, etc.. trying to make it better while I am doing the activities I have to is what I think about. So glad to have found this place, thanks for listening and for any information you can give me

Hi Queenof4 and welcome!

You have found the right place! Christine has done marvelous work for all of us out here who needed it. You can find answers to most all your questions here or in the new edition of her book. Since you are just 6 months postpartum, your body is still healing - read on the Pregnancy and Prolapse section for posts from ladies who are pregnant or who have dealt with the prolapse before and after delivery. They do have excellent suggestions. It will take time to adjust to the posture and you may have some ups and downs with how you are feeling. Sitting correctly in a car is still difficult for me but when I am in the pickup, it is easier. The seats in it automatically keeps me in a better sitting position to where I don't feel the strain. And I always have two different size pillows in whichever vehicle I'm in to help me deal with my posture and comfort. I still wash only a few dishes at a time so I don't incur the low back ache; my counter is supposed to be the recommended height but again, evidently men decided what that height is supposed to be. At any rate, it's not comfortable if I stand at the counter to work for long periods of time.

Once you become accustomed to the posture, it will become second nature to you. Just come on back here to ask any and all your questions. I am a big proponent of eating healthy food, so if it's possible for you to eat organic food, I highly recommend that.

Congratulations on your new baby!

Blessings,
Grandma Joy

Nice to meet you Grandma Joy. I will go back over the posts you suggested, I guess I wasn't categorizing myself as postpartum anymore. With use of the pillows, do they go behind your back or under your buttocks? Since reading Whole Woman ... I am aware of our slouching when sitting posture and I have been putting my car seat more erect and sitting more forward. I don't really have a pain issue as of yet so I didn't adjust based the physical aspect, just the mental awareness that I wasn't helping the posture, so any specific detail helps!
Thanks so much.
