tight abs..good or bad?

Body:

I am new and about to order the video. it may take awhile to get here because i live in Canada..but i am sure worth the wait. I got pretty sick from other health problems last year and since then i noticed my prolapse got worse. I can only think that its probably because many areas that I use to work out on faithfully, I have not been able to keep up. I still force myself to walk regularly. But thats about it. I use to do all sorts of exercise. From reading the posts I know I was also doing some exercises that were hurting the problem. Like, i use to do alot of crunches on my yoga ball and I havent done any for a year. I also use to do pilates, and some other yoga, and other weight training exercises. My abs use to be pretty tight..but i understand now that crunches can make the problem worse. Are there any kind of ab training i can do, that will help strenghten my abs, but not make the problem worse. Do tight ab muscles help the problem if you can get them without doing crunches? are there any quick exercise tips you can suggest while waiting for the video. thanks so much..i am so excited about the video and to be here with you all. I was soo scared but now I am feelinf better.

Hi Shannon,
I remember Christine saying either in video or book that two of the exercises sitting on a hard chair are good for working the abs. 1: sit near edge of chair feet on floor, cushion / small pillow held between the knees arms slightly behind you and grasp the back of chair, now raise knees together up & down 10 times. 2: same sitting position but with arms raised above head (hold baton if you have one) bring one knee up as you bring arms down to about where they meet then back, repeat 10 times each leg.
Hope this helps for now. Good luck Caz

Hi Shannon,

I don't know whether tight abs are good or bad, but with Christine's posture, you might not feel the need to focus on them specifically. The posture lifts your tummy in a graceful, poised way, so you don't need powerful abdominal muscles to pull your tummy in. Better to focus on the Christine's exercises, which will give you strength to maintain the posture.
