more progress

Body:

I just wanted to report more of my progress if nothing else to encourage all of you out there!

I am now 19 months after my post partum prolapse. I am doing really well and feel great. I have never had any symptoms as such from the rectocele and cystocele, but feel that things have improved even more. My prolapse presents as bulges, mostly at the back when I bear down, and less at the front. Well the front seems to bulge even less these days when I bear down so that there is really minimal movement at all. I still have the rectocele bulge though when bearing down and this is largely unchanged since the improvement I saw several months post partum. I am guessing that this will be the most stubborn prolapse, but as I don't notice it, well it really doesn't matter. :)

I have been engaging in pretty significant exercising the past few months, all mindful about form and posture. I walk about four miles a day, do a yoga workout some days and Tai Chi other days, and have recently started the ballet workout from the book on other days. (Wow, that is REALLY a workout girls!) I am glad I have done some ballet in the past as I think this helps a little though it also makes me realise how out of condition I am now compared to then! :)

So, that is me. I just want to add that this really does get better emotionally and physically over time. It is so interesting to see all of us women passing through such similar grieving processes along the way to come out the other end stronger in so many ways. I used to check obsessively too like someone else was saying recently, I think that's all part of it to begin with. I seldom check now and was very nicely surprised when I did the other day and found the improvement!

Thinking of all you lovely ladies out there! xx

Me again, just wanted to add that I may try running and other more "bouncy' exercises again soon. I haven't been doing those at all as they definitely seemed to make the vaginal walls bulge more but maybe I will see some improvement there as well. I will keep you all posted.

Michelle, this is just great to hear. I love the workout too, but it's SO MUCH FUN to do with a group of women! You know my heart's desire is to have wwcenters EVERYWHERE, but for now we will have to rely on dvd.

I shouldn't open my big mouth, but maybe it will spur us on to work even faster here...my daughter and I are working on a postpartum dvd. She is a very talented violinist and we are going to try to create our own score for it! Lots of work, but we just HAVE TO GET THIS INFORMATION OUT THERE.

I'm thrilled for you and want to let newer members know that you sounded just like cynical and jsnyc when you arrived. Now you are one of our wisewoman elders!!

Lots of love,

Christine

It's so great to hear how you are doing. Fabulous! I understand about increasing exercise. I have found the same. I love the WW ballet workout, and do it several times per week. It is so invigorating, and yes, quite the workout. I am contemplating getting weights to do it with. Christine, what weight to start out with? Keep us posted, and how are your two little ones? How old is your youngest. A year?

Blessings,

Marie

Thank you so much Marie and Christine for your heartfelt and sweet comments! I am indeed doing well in every way, and I wish the same for everyone else out there. Marie, I will e-mail you so we can catch up! It has been way too long. xxx
