bleeding and pain??

Body:

i have recently about 2 weeks ago been told by my doctor that i have a prolapsed uterus but still havent been seen by a specialist. I was just womdering if you could help as I have some bleeding and pain and i wondered if it was normal. The bleeding was really heavy when it first happened but then that stopped. Now the bleeding comes and goes and i have pain like period cramps and it hurts when i cough, bend etc. is it normal to have these pains? Thank you for your help in advance xxx

To be honest I have never heard of bleeding caused by prolapse (someone else will pop in and clarify) and I have heard of back pain and a dragging sensation with prolapse but what you are describing sounds like period etc... Are your periods of normal length and stuff or maybe you are having one of those months when period is being annoying and causing problems (can be caused by stress and lotsa things) Mine are usually like clock work then suddenly one month they went outta whack - so it happens that your cycle can get in a mess and get two periods a month or spotting etc, esecially with birth control pills etc

Good luck
Sue

Hi Tina1127

I agree with Sue. However, my periods do seem to vary a bit, in spite of being perimenopausal. My uterus used to be retroverted, from whenever I had my first vaginal examination. Now my posterior vaginal wall leans back further with the cystocele, the uterus seems to have flopped forwards into a more 'correct' position. I seem to get different types of pain now. Less congestion, less cramps, more backache and bloating, more fresh, red bleeds. But it could all be perimenopause at work as well. I guess it is a matter of checking out that there is nothing nasty happening, and just going with what your body is doing at the time. I don't really think there has ever been 'normal' with me, except between my first pregnancy and the last, an interval of about twelve years, before perimenopause started. I was all over the auction for the first fifteen years of menstrual cycles. Posture, diet and clothing choices do help.

Cheers
