When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Remember, the forum is here for two reasons. First, to get your questions answered by other women who have knowledge and experience to share. Second, it is the place to share your results and successes. Your stories will help other women learn that Whole Woman is what they need.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!
Best wishes,

Prolift
Hi Polly
Welcome. You are unlikely to find much from women who have had surgery on this site because we come here for help with managing prolapses without surgery. However, type "prolift" into the Search box and you will find several posts that others have written. I know there is one post from Christine Kent amongst them, where she talks about the disadvantages.
There are also some other Forum sites where women have had every type of repair surgery known to wo/man, and usually these women have had several surgeries. You might find more anecdotal information there. There are also a heap of sites run by clinics who specialise in repair surgery. You should be able to find out from them exactly what the procedure entails.
Best wishes for your search.

Thanks for the info Louise.
Thanks for the info Louise. I didn't realize that this site was for managing without surgery. I tried that route for 8 years and it finally got to the point I had to do something or I would lose my mind.

Hi again Polly
Hi Polly
Prolapse can be a very frustrating condition. Sorry, I didn't mean to say you wouldn't get any help here, just that you might more easily find the info you require on other sites.
Have you had a look at the FAQ's on www.wholewoman.com? You don't say what surgery you had before. It is possible that you may be able to get some benefit from Wholewoman posture and the exercise program, and hints on clothing etc, though of course there are no guarantees. It will cost you nothing, and if you get no benefit you have lost nothing, have learned some new things about how your body works, and you can still try the surgery at that point if you want to.
Cheers
Louise

RECTOCELE
Hi, everyone I have been reading these posts now for the past year and have finally decided to talk. I realize that I need to talk to people with the same problem because other people just don't get it.
There are good days and then there are bad ones and it gets so frustrating when you can't figure out the reason why.
One of the funny things I experience is that I can't FART! It sounds crazy but I wish I could fart soooooooo bad and when I do I am so glad it helps me feel so much less pressure. What a change from the lady that never wanted to fart and now I am so happy that I try to figure out what made me be able to fart so that so I can eat that all the time. Ha Ha..... LOL but it is true.
I never hear anyone post about enemas. I can't slpint or maybe I just don't want to. I hurts when I try and I don't want to have to have a laytex glove next to my toilet everytime I try to relieve myself.
I have found fleet enemas really help when there is alot of pressure. I have normal BM in the morning, but then at noon have the rectal pressure and stress attack come. I can't tell if it is really bowel that is stuck in the rectocele or my organs pressing on my rectum. I try to only use a warm water enema to get things going. Sometimes it relieves everything and other times it produces nothing.
Just wanted to know if this is harmful in any way and if any one else uses this form of relief. I actully think it helps get rid of the gas that gets stuck in the rectocele even if there is no BM.
Oh well if anyone was nice enough to read all of this I hope your day is good and free of the monster that seems to lurk below the belly today.

Farting - lollllllllllllllll
When you are feeling gassy - This is another thing that twisting right (only right seems to work) helps
So...... You are feeling gassy like you wanna explode - Very uncomfortable
YOu can try thi standing or lying on your bed
Just lie down facing left - On your left side... Then twist your body rightttttt and see if that helps the gassy bubbles to move - And release the gassy feelings.
This sometimes helps you to burp also to get the gas out of the belly - Either way is good if it stops the ouchy feeling...
Hope that helps in some way
I am not sure about enemas tho

GAS IS TRAPPED IN RECTOCELE
MY GAS IS TRAPPED DOWN IN MY RECTOCELE NOT MY BELLY!!!!!!! AND IT IS SO UNCOMFOTABLE. I'VE BEEN IN EVERY IMAGINABLE POSITION BUT NOTHING WORKS.
WELL I SHOULDN'T SAY NOTHING WORKS. WHEN I HAVE FAT FREE SUGAR FREE ICECREAM I CAN FART UP A STORM AND IT FEELS GREAT. IT ALSO GIVES ME EXPLOSION BM'S, WHICH IS RELIEVING TO SAY THE LEAST, BUT I DON'T IMAGINE THIS COULD BE GOOD TO EAT ON A DAILY BASIS AND I SUPPOSE EVENUALLY MY SYSTEM WOULD GET USED TO IT AND IT WOULDN'T WORK ANYMORE.
ENEMAS DO HELP SOMETIMES, BUT ARE THEY HARMFUL TO DO EVERYDAY? THAT'S WHAT I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT.
WHEN I ASKED MY UROGYNO HE JUST SAID STOP THE SENNA TEA AND ENEMAS AND THEN GAVE MY A PRESCRIPTION FOR MIRALAX. DOESN'T WORK. JUST MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I HAVE TO GO ALL DAY. FIBER IS ANOTHER LAUGH ALL IT DOES I MAKE MY RECTOCLELE BIGGER BECAUSE OF THE BULK. DUH! I NEED SOMETHING THAT PUSHES IT OUT OF THE HERNIATED BALLOON BETWEEN MY LEGS AND THE ONLY THING THAT HELPS TO DO THAT IS STIMULANT LAXATIVES OR ENEMAS NOT STOOL SOFTNERS.
MY QUESTION IS WHAT IS WORSE USING STIMLANT LAXATIVES AND ENEMAS EVERYDAY OR RISKING A SURGERY THAT DOESN'T HAVE A GREAT SUCCESS RATE AND COULD CAUSE NERVE DAMAGE?

I have the same thing!
The worst was when I was sitting in a movie theater, uncomfortable! What I have found to help is, grab both "cheeks" and pull up and out. It seems to help the most, I don't know why but seems to do the trick!!! Good luck! As far as enemas, I have read about them and found that if you just do a plain warm water enema that it should be okay.
I also haven't found splinting to work and it feels kind of worse afterward anyway. Yuck!!!

if you need to go right back to basics and experiment with your diet.

I see you have
I see you have a severe case of Capslockitis.
The mere fact is that if you laid upon your bed on your left side and then relaxed, you then twist right - The internal pressures you are outting on the lower bowe/rectal passage through the twist will push air downwards to the EXIT! - If when you have held the twist for about five to ten seconds and it has not achieved its aim you return to facing straight on your left side as if you were trying to go to sleep etc... Then after a few seconds to a minute you twist right again you are gradually pushing this trapped air towards the exit.
Do it or not - That is your choice but I know it works - cos I just was lying in my flippin bed and DID IT - Thus making me remember your capslockfull post at me telling me what a load of rubbish I just said - So I get outta bed to come write this so I can get relaxed again to sleep!
So - Tis up to you. I know it works, but you can do as you please it's your trapped wind. But the bowel is a long tube and when you put presure (pressure by twisting) on one end - things have to move - And in the lower bowel/rectum it ain't gonna move upwards is it.
This also helps with constipation a little bit, but only a little bit.
Goes back to bed
