When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Remember, the forum is here for two reasons. First, to get your questions answered by other women who have knowledge and experience to share. Second, it is the place to share your results and successes. Your stories will help other women learn that Whole Woman is what they need.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!
Best wishes,

Sorry for our silence
I guess no one knows what to say. Sorry if it's hurt your
feelings. You see- this forum was begun by a Woman who
believes the risks of surgery are too high... We are all looking
to each other for support and ways to live with this, with-out
going under the knife.
I have heard there is a website called "hystersisters" dedicated
towards women with surgical history that is similar in it's forum
format. Your letters should be responded to ! I wish you the best
with all my heart.

Hysterectomy, Cystocele, Rectocele with A/P repair
This is my first visit to this location. Just ordered the book "Saving the Whole Woman" off amazon.com because it was about the only book I could locate on the topic of pelvic prolapse. I wish I had found this book BEFORE I had the surgery -- hysterectomy, cystocele, rectocele & A/P repair with mesh sling but I didn't.
I will be checking out the Hystersisters site you mention -- however I am still interested in this site for my daughter who does not have problems yet but since my mother did & I did - she needs to be forewarned & informed.
My surgery was done Dec 20 2005 - 2 yrs ago. I tried to follow instructions about lifting as much as possible. I was very careful for the first 6 months - lifted up to 15lbs -- then 25lbs -- finally after 6mos or so was told 35lb okay but don't push it. I still try to limit my lifting to 20lb max now because about a year after the surgery I started feeling that same pressure that I felt before. Was referred to a GYN Physical Therapist which apparently is a relatively new speciality -- that visit was all about kegel exercises & possible use of pessary. No pessary. Maybe the kegel helped -- don't really think so.
I became more cautious about lifting & running but pushed limits sometimes because I was pressured with deadlines of selling/buying/moving to new house. After the move was accomplished Sep 2007 - this feeling of pressure & something trying to fall out was worse so I made appt with new GYN in city where I now live -- only to find out my vaginal vault has now prolapsed! (and according to what I read in Saving the Whole Woman -- there is 43% chance of this after Hysterectomy but I was unaware of this!) I did some research & talked with other women who had had hysterectomies & seemed like everyone was happy with their outcome. So I chose surgery not knowing of any alternative - now looks like more surgery may be in store for me. At this late date I am still looking for other alternatives or at the very least trying to understand more about pelvic prolapse & related fallout.

Hello RedCaboose
I am so sorry for what you are going through - its tough. I am afraid I do not have any answers for you but wanted to say well done on educating your daughter about this oh so common problem. I will do the same for my daughter and hope that she never has to go through this.
I wish you all the best.
