Just Found Out

Body:

Hello, everyone. I just found out that I have slight uterine prolapse and cystocele. My doctor said I have 3 options-- wait and see what happens, use a pessary, or have a hysterectomy. I said I wanted to wait and see and he said fine. The nurse printed out some info for me and gave it to me before I left the clinic. It was info on the "fem-brace" and "Saving the whole woman". I went to the address at the bottom of the page to find this site.
Thanks for being here, but I'm not sure as to what to do now. I am terrible at exercising and have no spare money to check out the book or the video to see.
I am 48, have 3 grown children(delivered naturally- weighing 8#15oz, 7#11oz, and 9#3oz. The doctor said I fit every criteria for prolapse-wonderful- as I was white, had heavy babies, was thin, and I smoke. Right now, the prolapse is just there-- I haver no pain, nothing hanging out, no feeling of heaviness as I have read here-- it is at the mouth of my vagina. It scared me a little when I first noticed it, but the doctor said it was very mild right now.
He told me if I have surgery that the prolapse could come back within 10 years, and he sounded like he did not want me to have the surgery, of which I am glad.
Thanks.

Sounds like you have a great, progressive, caring doctor. I'm glad you've found us. I think you'll be really please with the results should you decide to try the posture.

Christine, this is big, isn't it? Yea!

Kelly

Definitely a start, Kelly! I can't wait until we are part of every ob/gyn/urogyn's option list that they must, by law, provide to women!!

Hi and welcome, Cicada,

My first response wants to be...please give up smoking and for the cost of a carton of cigarettes buy the video! But I know you must make that decision when you are ready. I don't think I would even recommend the total program if you are smoking, just because it exercises the heart and lungs pretty well and those in turn must be healthy to safely do the work.

You will likely be able to stabilize your prolapse using only the posture. Even this requires quite alot of awareness and willingness to work with your body, but my hope is that it will give you a starting point from which to progress to a healthier lifestyle.

Wishing you well,

Chrisitine
