When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

Fluidity
I found the website after I saw your post. I had never heard of it before. It looks like it would be very helpful for many exercises and then there are some that might work against us. I'm finding that to be the case with all of my traditional exercise equipment and routines. I'd love to have one for doing Christine's ballet workout. Kit

Hi All Check out this review
Hi All
Check out this review site. http://www.fitnessinfomercialreview.com/reviews/fluidity .
It looks like another exercise machine to me, with a very slick infomercial-style promotion designed for people who spend a lot of time watching tele.
Remember that it is the exercise that benefits the body, not the machine. If you are into machines for a bit of variety and get a kick out of buying and trying new products, go for it. I would guess that the endorsements have been paid.
I think that often we assume that something that will cost us a lot of money, give us the thrill of opening our new present, take up room in our house and keep us entertained with novelty activities is more benefit than something like the Wholewoman websites and techniques that are freely available, or more deeply available in the books and discs. The classifieds are full of secondhand exercise machines - I wonder why?
Cheers from your cynical and anti-consumerist friend

Exercise, machines and..... RANGE OF MOTION
Ok most exercise machines are a bit poopy to be honest. Having tried MANY in the past in my extremely fit days and having returned many to the stores informing them they are poopy and broke within *so any days*
Basically you need very few if any machines.
Personally the more monotonous are my faves
Treadmill (With incline) and step
Walking - Free and great exercise
Step is a great non machine machine but using it some people say aggravates POP but - Not how I use it... (Step lightly - Never stamp) Stepping up and down will raise your heart rate and use many muscles in lower body... Raising arms in different ways will bring upper body in but....
If you slow down your stepping and bring in range of motion - You will find basic stepping a whole new heart pumping exercise...
Range of motion explained simply is...
When moving your arms say upwards.... Reach an inch further or try to reach just outside of your range - This gets muscles working that tiny bit harder - On the PULL back - put in your head the thought of **Reach the rope - and PULL IT** Thus bringing the pulling motion in the return movement. Increasing the range so to say...
You can do this within any exercise you do.
NEVER just fling your arms around in a dancy jumpy motion.
Step lightly when you step - Never stamp down - That is jarring to the knees and ankles and will cause damage in the long run...
Range of motion can be a key to make a very simple exercise much more taxing and enjoyable. Sounds boring - Costs nothing - But just WATCH the results...
Before I got my disablent (Not POP) I used this alot. I adored just looking in the mirror at myself - *vanity* - after a workout usuing range of motion and looking at the muscles after they had been used effectively in this manner... An hour or so later the muscles are not so full of blood so I didn't become Mrs Schwarzenegger lolllll
You can use range of motion when walking - Step that bit further between steps and before lifting back foot off of the floor etc.
You can use range of motion when just stepping sde to side - Just step wider... And pulllegs in like against water - makes it effectively harder...
You can use range of motion in any exercise and it really DOES work!
Just remember - pretty dancy moves achieve little if you don't wanna be a dancer.
Effective workouts are what you want - Then range of motion will make your EVERY movement MORE effective...
In my now disability - The loss of my exercise as I used to be able to do it has been the hardest 'bereavement' that I have been through...
But - If what I know and have learned can help anyone - Then it's all good to me :-)
Anyways I ramble as usual - lol
I do not believe 99% of these machines are of any use bar hanging clothes upon - lol
Your best tool is your body - Use it - Or lose it - Cos I know if I had not become disabled I would be one helluva strong woman now cos within fitness comes alot of benefits bar just looking good (Yeah i miss that too lmao)
Hope some of that helps.. My teas gone cold now - lollllllllll

Range of Motion
Sue - In a recent post, Christine told me to circle my arms - up and down, sort of like a bird flying. I've been doing arm exercises also pretending I'm swimming - doing both forward and back strokes. But using 'range of motion', all these movements now seem to perform so much better and I can feel my ab muscles getting a better workout. Thanks for the GREAT suggestion!

Challenge yourself - try this
Try this one when walking or stepping etc...
Put your arms together in front of you - Like two L's back to back (if you get what i mean) as stepping open arms slowwwwwwly and then close back to the L's back to back L
Open them as if you are pushhhhhing away a weight opening and close as if you hafta push something to get the arms to touch again like two L's back to back thumbs outside and hand flat edges touching on the close... Hand palms facing towards your face on the close and towards each shoulder on the open so when open it looks like |_0_|
You will feel this working chest arms back.
Don't overdo it though or you will ache tons - lol
There are so many things you can do with this that none of them include money or lack of :-) All of them will increase wellness and make you stronger...

Sue!
Sue, It is 6:30 AM and I am trying to figure out your L arm workout...I am confused but I will keep trying till I get it. Might have to wake up more first. lol Do you know of an exercise that would help heal a battered rotator cuff? I injured myself a couple of months ago and, although, it's no worse, I am not making much head-way towards healing. Thank you for all the exercise helps and tips. I love to learn from others.
Goldfinch, I am going to start doing the 'range of motion, too,' can't let you get too far ahead of me!! lol

:-) Helps?
I am not a Dr nor did I get to the end of my training back then so I only know part of it (Plus my own journey through weight loss and gaining fitness etc)
Which part of the rotator cuff have you battered? And in what way? Basically if it is an overuse injury - Resting it should have helped - Not that you can just cease using your arm unless its tied up lol...
Basically this exercise is like a stood up chest press. But the hands are closing in front of your face little finger to touch side of hand with other little finger palms facing you - Then your hands/palms are in front of your face and your forearms are touching all the way down to the elbows (this is harder to explain that i envisaged lol)
You then 'open the book) Open the arms to a |_o_| shape (fingertips pointing towards ceiling - Kind aof like the pic above)
*Its been a few years (well 6 or 7) and I have forgotton alot of names lollllllll
But basically your arms are together palms facing your face then you just open your arms like opening a book - always using range of motion - and close again to return to starting position. While doing this your leg are also moving to keep heart rate up :-)
This will not cure your prolapse... Moving within range of motion and stepping lightly and not jarring the body will make life easier hopefully on the heavy feeling (IN POSTURE LADIES LOLOL)
Is that a better explanation or do I hafta do photos? lol (Will hafta cut my face out as am ugly as sin and I have only been well enough to re-start my old me very recently so am revisiting getting fit(ish) myself also before I get another relapse of my illness to whap me down again)
||
Open the curtains |_o_| fingers still pointing skywards and if the o is your face facing me your arms are now open and forearms still upwards... Your body would be below the o If I had drawn it... Kinda like wide
I will think of new ways to describe it if thats too confusing lolllllll
OK......
See this ladies arms... Up together (ignore weights for now)
http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/fitness/photos/chest_press_2.jpg
Then open the arms to make the arms still in UP position but upper arms are now in a straight line like _o_ but arms are still upwards...
Like this
http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/fitness/photos/chest_press_1.jpg
You can add weights but using range of motion you wont need to really...
To be honest I would have got her to lift elbows a bit so arms are in a straight line - Her arms are a bit low to be as effective... And on the close her elbows are miles apart - But this is just my way as I feel its more effective for me :-)
Remember to breathe...
Keep elbows bent at a 90-degree angle until elbows and forearms meet in front of your face and chest.
I do love google for pics :-) Saves me lol
That should help?
If you find it gets too easy at a later date you can add weights but remember she is stood still and you are doing this whilst your legs are also moving so it is aerobic (IN OXYGEN == BREATHING) Never ever out of breath - Step and this movement is good as on the step Up the arms go out and on the step down - They close...
Does this help?

Oh Sue!
Sue, I think I love you!! Yes, I understand you are not a doctor, nor do you play one on the world-wide-web!! Still, you are one smart cookie, I can tell. I will digest all of your explainings and do my best...I am in learning mode today. Thank you for all the time it took to reply so thoroughly.
Which part of my rotator cuff did I damage? There are different parts? lol I am clueless, was just told by someone that I trust that, indeed, that is what I did. If I circle my arm parallel to my body, front motion is okay but going behind my back in either direction is where my trouble lies. It is okay if you cannot help. I am going to get my accu-pressure angel to work on it. Like I said, I just love learning, and I love to work out my own troubles if possible.
Thankfully, I do not have any pressure to deal with. I really feel for those that do. My biggest problems are not pop related. I am working on improving my whole body though.
I am going to digest more of your post now.
Thank you so much, Sue, people like you make the world a good place to be a part of. Kit

Rotator cuff
You are so kind you make me blush - lol - Don't love me - I am evil really ;-)
I think you should go to your Dr and possibly get physio for your injury as these injuries can go on for years if not treated (I know this I have some lol)
*EDIT*
This site is good - It explains clearly what it is and how it works and has pics (I love pics)
http://www.aafp.org/afp/980215ap/fongemie.html
Physio will help get things moving in the right way so as to not damage things further :-)
The rotator cuff is if i remember rightly a combination of muscles that work together to rotate the arm (will check brb lol)
Here ya go Rotator Cuff injuries http://www.aidmyrotatorcuff.com/index.php?REF=GRotatorX
Might be best to see someone about this so it doesn't exacerbate (Dont let this site talk you into buying anything without seeing a Dr first!)
http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGLG...
I hope you get it sorted soon. (Personally I would not exercise this in case it exacerbates the injury until after I have seen a doctor as my partner has a frizen shoulder - won't go to Dr - And has had it getting worse and worse for like well like 10months now)
He moans alot but does little - lol

Ah, Sue...
Dear Sue, You've not an ounce of evil! Unless it’s that sweet, playful, innocent evil we could all use a bit of. And don't pay any mind to my effusiveness. I’m just enjoying some lightness of heart after my last bout with my emotional side. When I am feeling a writing close to me, it will settle me into whatever mode it requires to come to life. If I refuse to settle, it will come anyway but it is easier to surrender to the process. It can be really selfish with me, at times, but I've learned that it is a small price to pay for the gift at the end. The writing that I just did for Christine took me into a peaceful silence for quite sometime. I had no clue what was coming and I was almost completely at a loss for words during that time. After it was over I realized that I had been processing on a deep level the impact my association with WW has had on me and it all made sense. It rarely lets me know the direction I will be taken. But I’ve learned to enjoy the fact that there is such great freedom in surrendering to something greater than myself. After the cycle is complete, I get hit full-force, again, with the reality of all my blessings. It's like it enhances the light around me. And I live most always in a pretty bright light to begin with. But it turns it up just enough that I don’t want to let anyone or anything not know how much I appreciate them in that moment. I am just in love with life and all its mysteries. Wish I could explain it better. So, I saw you brightly today, and I see you there, still, as a real blessing on my day.
As to my malady, you have shown me that it is no simple thing that I am dealing with. I have been trying to exercise it away with yoga...and even though it is not getting worse, and is better than when it happened, I may not be letting it rest as I should. So, see, dear Sue, not only did I perceive you as a blessing-- now the fact is firmly based in reality as you opened my eyes to something important. My heart is rarely wrong. You'll just have to live with the pressure of my love today. :-)
I hope your partner’s shoulder heals in time. Thank you for everything. Kit

You are very very welcome :-)
If knowledge is power then WW is a VERY powerful thing.
We come here the lowest and most fearful and we are empowered by each other. I personally have been back to a very dark place at end of last year - At this moment I am climbing slowly back out.
A WW hug is like no other :-)
The light of day is a dazzlingly bright place to be within :-)
I am happy to help anyone in any way I can - It gives me a great warm feeling inside to be of use to people in any way :-D
Have a great day

Thanks
Thanks :-)
Just to add for other people interested in exercise along with range of motion goes 'aerobic' meaning always in oxygen (Fat burns IN oxygen - if you are out of breath you are NOT burning fat and are wasting your time)
So check every now and then that you can say the words (without gasping for breath) ''Whole Women rock this world'' :-) If those words make you gasp for breath - You are not in oxygen and should take it down a bit until you are (obviously if you can hold a complete conversation you may need to work a bit harder lol)
:-)
I said once in a magazine I wrote to - Losing weight is a side effect of getting fit - Thats true
But getting well and being strong (healthy not Arnie) is also a great way to be a Whole Strong Woman :-)
This is a fabulous site :-D
Onwards and upwards.......

Thank you
Just wanted to say I appreciate everyone's comments. Louise, thank you for the website - actually, that's one of the sites that I had already seen. And Sue, lots of great tips - thank you.
I'm one who gets really bored with walking and I'm not disciplined enough to keep working out regularly unless I have a workout I really enjoy and see results with. For clarification, this is not a "machine", it's basically a ballet bar and a mat with an exercise dvd. Hip Hop Abs was my last favorite (lost 6 lbs and about 6 inches overall - 3 inches just off my waist - in the first week!). I got stronger, more toned, great cardio, all in a very short time. But unfortunately, the Abs part of the Hip Hop was too much for my girl parts so I had to let it go. I really need to build strength overall, especially in my back (save me some money on my chiro!), and having had a few years of ballet training in my youth, this looks very interesting and fun to me.
I'm going to try it - I'll let "y'all" know how it goes....
Best to everyone.
Lynn
