When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Remember, the forum is here for two reasons. First, to get your questions answered by other women who have knowledge and experience to share. Second, it is the place to share your results and successes. Your stories will help other women learn that Whole Woman is what they need.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!
Best wishes,

Hi Camille
Yes, use the search box to find my topic "pelvic pain and pudendal nerve entrapment". I thing you might mean 'neuralgia', rather than 'neurolgia'. One of the best websites is www.tipna.org. You would have some pain and/or discomfort with PNE.
The golfball sounds a bit like a bladder prolapse (cystocele). Some members have described prolapsed pelvic organs as being like sitting on a golfball. Prolapse is often a result of pelvic surgery and often happens some time afterwards after scar tissue formation and subsequent weakening of the surrounding fascia.
You may indeed have PEN, resulting from the surgery you have had (proctocolectomy is surgery, isn't it?). It is not common in women who have not had some sort of pelvic surgery, except straight after vaginal birth, when it usually gets better with time. If it is POP aggravating the nerve further, this is why it may have taken a while to manifest.
I would suggest that you get a medical diagnosis, which will probably confirm what is really happening. The cause of pain from PEN, as I understand it, is the stretching and subsequent irritation of the nerve, because the perineum that the anal branch serves is distended further down and away from the sacrum (where the nerve exits the spinal column). It kind of gets squashed between other pelvic structures on the way through.
A good first move for you will be to go to www.wholewoman.com and have a look at the FAQ's. Learn about Wholewoman posture and learn how to do it. If you get serious about using Wholewoman posture for the rest of your life, all your pelvic organs will move forwards over the pubic bone and off the pelvic floor behind it, and reduce the downwards pressure on your pelvic floor and perineum. Hopefully this will allow your perineum to rise again and reduce the pull and irritation on the nerve, and any pain will gradually dissipate. That's my theory anyway. You may be able to kill two birds with one stone.
Feel the golfball with clean fingers then pull yourself into WW posture and have another feel. It may not be so obvious second time. This is how WW posture works, and it sure beats the surgical fix. I would rather try non-surgical methods before opting for surgery, any day.
WW posture appears to be the posture that the Creator intended for human women. Funny how it took us so long to discover it, and thanks to Christine who put it all together for the rest of us. Call back and ask more questions once you have checked out all these things.
Cheers

Cystocele
Hi Camille,
I have a third degree cystocele (bladder prolapse) and the "golf ball" you describe is exactly what I have if the bulge is coming out of your vagina..that's where mine is. I would follow Louise's advice and I would also stay very well lubricated, using a vaginal lubrication high up in the vagina (I use Replens) and KY Jelly, or one of Christine's Balms lower on the vulva.
Warmest regards,
Mae

Pudendal Nerve Neuralgia
The "golf ball" feeling is in the rectum, not in the vagina, right? How could then this be bladder prolapse? Sorry, I am new at this forum but I believe Camille was talking about anorectal pain.

Pudendal nerve entrapment / Proctocolectomy
Hi Camille
I was puzzled when I read your topic. Now I know what proctocolectomy is, from http://www.webmd.com/ibd-crohns-disease/Proctocolectomy-and-ileostomy-fo... I can see that it is quite major surgery, and you don't really need extra discomfort in addition to what you are already dealing with day to day.
It is really hard to know what the golfball is, as your abdominal and pelvic areas have both been disturbed and altered significantly. It could be anything, and I think you would be wise to find out from your medical advisors what the golfball thing is. It may be a pelvic organ prolapse, but it could also be connected with your intestines or other abdominal organs, and they need to know that you are experiencing this. You may be in need of urgent medical attention.
About 50% of women who have had pelvic repair surgery will experience further POP as a result of the repair surgery. I imagine that it is quite possible that you are experiencing POP of some sort.
As for the pudendal neuralgia I posted on the subject "pudendal nerve entrapment" several months ago. Putting it into the Search box will bring up my topic. I attended a PNE seminar and wrote the post when I returned. Another website of interest to you would be www.tipna.org, which also has a community Forum.
I am sorry I did not post an initial response earlier, because I didn't know what proctocolectomy was. I am hoping you have already seen a doctor to discuss the golfball thing.
Cheers
Louise

Did a doctor diagnose the PNE? What was the reason for the proctocolectomy? I think you need to see your doctor immediately.
