When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

RE: help
Hi Marie
If you go to the Forum Bodywork Topic ID: 28 Message ID:0
you will see post by Christine Called First Aid For Prolapse
Christine gives an exercise that can help your prolapse.
I know how easy it is to panic when you first realize you have a prolapse. I've had mine since 2001. I have a 3rd degree prolapse and also a prolapsed bladder.
I refused surgery and got a pessary. I also have a fembrace that I use when I have trouble keeping my pessary in place. I use one or the other if I am going to be on my feet a lot because if I am on my feet a lot my prolapses do protrude more than usual.
I have been seriously doing the posture for about 2 months now and find it helps a lot. I had trouble getting it right and I think I have finally got it. One of my biggest problems was learning to relax and not panic. Through trial and error and reading and rereading many of the postings on this site I am more relaxed in my attitude and have found it helps me when things aren't going as well as I think they should.
I am sure you will get the posture down pat in no time.

RE: help
Hi and help please! I'm one of those women who was never told anything growing up. Mom didn't even mention periods to us girls. Had to find out everything ourselves. Now I'm 61 y/o and still don't know a heck of a lot. What is a pessary and fembrace. I was scheduled for surgery May 9th. Doctor said he couldn't put the uterus back when he fixed the prolapse so he would have to do a hysterectomy. I have been investigating some what. I am not computer smart but I'm am trying as fast as I can. And sponges, what is that. I've had 3 children. And nothing else except appendix out. Don't have backaches or infections and am pretty healthy except for prolapse. I have read Christine's book, wonderful!!! I have cancelled surgery for now. What horror stories I've read. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time, Nancy

RE: help
Welcome, Nancy, and thanks so much for joining us...
Hardly any of us knew about prolapse until we discovered it ourselves. Pretty astonishing given that it's the single most prevalent women's health condition in the developed world!
Here are the answers to the questions you asked:
1. The Fembrace is a garter belt-type article that you wear to give external support to your perineum. There is similar product called the V2 Supporter that may be more comfortable, although women report favorably of both: www.birthjoy.com/shop.html (you must scroll down to find it.)
2. A pessary is a diaphragm-like device made of bio-compatible material that is inserted into the vagina to give internal support to prolapsed organs. These must be ordered by prescription and fitted by your doctor.
3. There is now a very soft, natural sea sponge that is being marketed as a reusable tampon, which women are finding make a better pessary than the silicone variety, at a fraction of the cost. You can find a link to those in the "Resources" section here on the home page.
You are at great advantage of seeing significant results with this work by having no history of pelvic surgery.
