Flat feet

Body:

I am keen to start this. I have an everythingocele! I feel disgusting. I am worried now about the feet straight forward thing and thinking about your arches.
I dont have any arches- my feet are significantly flat. is this an issue.

Also, I want to start the whole woman 'thing' but, I am finding it hard to know how, or where!! Could someone direct me in the right direction?

Thanks so much

Hi Ginny

You just sound like it is a whole new set of stuff for your body and brain to get around. It probably feels a bit like trying to learn all over again how to ride a bicycle. It is. So cheer up. It can be quite hard undoing years of ingrained habits, so don't beat up on yourself. It is quite hard for most women, but not nearly as hard as living your life feeling like you have a cricket ball in your vagina.

First step is to go to www.wholewoman.com and check out the FAQ's.

Second step is to spend half a day using the search box, entering different keywords (like arches, feet, posture, belly, lumbar curve, etc). This will bring up a list of topics (some of which will look totally irrelevant, but they are not). Click on each topic and use your browser's Find on This Page function to highlight the keyword so you can skim each topic looking for it. Feel free to re-open topics if you have questions about what others have written. Just post a question.

You have a steep learning curve ahead of you, as there is a lot of basic stuff to get your head around. Take your time.

When you get sick of that, and want to know why it all works, buy Christine Kent's book, Saving the Whole Women, 2nd edition. The lights will inevitably turn on when you understand what your body is doing.

Progress may be slow, and you may have setbacks but it will slowly get better. After four years I am still experiencing improvements, and my POP's certainly don't limit me much. I still have POP's but I can usually find a way to do things that will not give me that horrid bulging pressure and make me feel hopeless about the future.

Don't know about the flat feet thing cos I have high arches and a high instep. However, I do know that the orthotics I have just had fitted have made me walk smoother, and I don't get such a sore back standing for long periods.

Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Cheers

Louise
