Riding a rollercoaster

Body:

Hi, I'm not sure where to post this, but we are planning a family trip to disney land and I am wondering if I should/can ride the rollercoasters. I was diagnosed with mild uterine prolapse 3 weeks after giving birth to my second child. I also think I have prolapse of the bladder and colon.
What do you think?

Hey Zubie

Learn to sit and stand and walk and do everything that might shift your pelvic organs back and down, in Wholewoman posture, then do it, just do it!!! You don't have to limit your activities much at all once you understand how your body supports the pelvic organs.

eg When I know I am going to be sitting in unpredictable seating and I know I will be stuck there for some time (like up in the air - wheeeee) I take a lumbar support with me to help my body maintain its lumbar curve when the seat won't. You can probably get an inflatable one that folds up into a purse size in your handbag.

Once you have the knowledge, which you will get from Christine's book and from discussing the application of it here, you will lose your fear of your organs going down the plughole.

Sure, we all have our times when we doubt our bodies or we overdo it, but everything passes and we learn to trust our bodies to recover their composure. I think when doctors make their diagnostic statements and tell us the worst that will happen as a result of POP, they are consciously or unconsciously planting seeds of self-doubt and fear where none is necessary. Thi$ i$ a part of getting u$ to come back for more treatment, rather than teach your body how to live with itself.

Sure, doctors are great for some things (like confirming that the lump in the vagina is not a malignant tumour), but for other conditions which are not life-threatening, they are often just fear mongers who know less about living with POP than we do. That may come across as a very arrogant statement on my part but personal experience has shown me and lots of others that it is true.

Learn WW posture, trust your body, buy your inflatable cushion and enjoy the rollercoaster, the sled, the boat, the skydiving, the ocean, the mountains, everything !!!

Cheers

Louise
