Uprise and WW

"Let the battle begin." I cannot believe a forum such as Uprise, who are made up of intelligent women cannot get past the personality issues and be able to keep on track with the original issue - prolapses.

Ms. Kent's claims have been put to the test. We are the clinical trial in progress. This program is not "exclusive." (Obviously some of the women here, me included, visit Uprise. Attempts are being done so that the medical community is aware of Ms. Kent's hard working efforts. Let's face it, though. The almighty dollar speaks louder than body adaptation. Surgery versus posture.

That's where this conversation should have ended on Uprise, but no - now we had to dredge up a "bit of history" and the realization that a lot of newer women signing on do not know about that "history." Why should anyone know? They didn't sign on If surgery can be stalled, then for God's sake, why not share another means to address prolapse issues. And to "lock" a topic of conversation creates in me a feeling of "big brother" is watching you. Can't anyone get past this and be able to share what is personally working for them?

Ms. Kent, never said she offered a "cure." She offered the ability to COPE with prolapses. I have univeral prolapses (rectocele brought on by pessary use), am 58 years old and have applied this particular method on this forum since March of 2004. I can honestly say I am coping beyond expectations and most days do NOT feel the prolapses. I don't expect to be "cured" but I did expect and got a far better response from my body than I could have ever imagined. Will I never need surgery? I don't know. All I knew was what I had initially read on Uprise and no matter how anyone wants to read their forum - there is a subtle leaning toward surgery. If not - then a direction to other ways to address prolapse issues would have been shared and not the vindictiveness that seems to permeate with a few.

I learned an immense amount of information from Uprise and no one can deny the support that is given each woman - but when personality takes center stage, then just how much are these women willing to share with the "newbies" coming on board?

I cannot begin to tell you how deeply disappointed I am in Uprise and their "handling" of shared information. I thank you, Ms. Kent, for your attempts and continued work on addressing prolapses. You have walked that proverbial mile and have been where some of the Uprise women have been and yet had enough foresight to offer a kinder, gentler solution. Thank you! I thank Catherine for the support system and her willingness to identify and comfort each woman who signs onto Uprise.

Whether I will be "black listed" from Uprise remains to be seen. For some reason, freedom of speech is a bit limited when personality issues strike a chord. I have immense amount of empathy for women who come on board, scared (I was)and wanting help, if for anything, the needed information to be able to deal with this. It took me almost three years (thank goodness I didn't submit to the knife) to find this forum, adopt the suggestions and "throw away" any idea of surgical intervention.

Yes - this method works the best when the women attempting to adopt it have their entire pelvic organs. I don't know if those who already had surgical intervention can adapt.

As for rectocele - Colace is good in maintaining softness. Non habit forming and for the person who asked about my friend. She is doing 1000% better. Thank you for remembering.

Again, sadness and disappointment in Uprise prompted this "cleansing" of the soul.
