chocolate

Body:

Jackie...I saw your post about chocolate before I had to leave for a day filled with meetings...can't find it now, sorry! Chocolate and sugar both drive the adrenals, the cortisol from which significantly affects most cells that participate in immune or inflammatory responses - especially white blood cells. I was never sensitive to chocolate until very recently and now must avoid it entirely - I used to make balls of ground sesame and honey dusted with chocolate powder. No more. Doesn’t chocolate kill dogs and does anyone know why? C.

Yes Christine..chocolate can definitely kill dogs! It is extremely toxic to dogs and to horses. Of course, it would take a lot more chocolate to kill a horse than it would to kill a dog, and older dogs are much more at risk. Chocolate contains theobromaine..from the coca plant. Very toxic to dogs!

Raisins and grapes are not good either! They can cause acute renal fialure in dogs..not sure about horses...
