cervix height during pregnancy

Body:

So...my cervix is about an inch inside my vaginal opening. It presses into my posterior vaginal wall and rests on my muscles there. I'm having a lot of issues with very tight/painful pelvic floor muscles and I'm wondering if it may be due to the fact that there is so much pressure placed on them by my uterus. It doesn't sound like many other people have this pain, though. Any thoughts on this? Also, I've read that during pregnancy, the uterus will "pop up" after a few months. How far up does it go? Would the uterus likely be lifted up off of the pelvic floor muscles?
Thanks!

congratulations! How exciting to hear of your pregnancy. Keep us posted about how it goes for you.
my cervix is always highish- but around 20 weeks I pop- and then there is much less pelvic pressure (until the last 2 months or so). Isn't pregnancy fun ;)
