Prolapse in 1943

Body:

I just had a thought that made me weep. My grandmother had a prolapse after giving birth to my Dad in 1943. This is why I think it's probably in my genes. But she was told that she could never have any more children - and so never did. My dad had a bit of a miserable childhood and went to boarding school alone etc. But this wasn't true was it? She could have had another baby - especially if she had a mild prolapse like me (I can't ask her now as she's passed on). Horrible patriachal doctors of the past - and sometimes present.

Dear Katya2,

I am sorry about your grandmother, but she probably had friends with similar 'unknowns'. I would imagine that years ago, such issues were all hush hush, and not understood, unlike what we have here, on this very informative forum. We are indeed fortunate.

I also agree with your comment with regards to patriachal doctors of the past and definitely in my case, female doctors in the present. I understand.

Hugs for you,

Dear Katya and Ocean,

Thank you for your comments and I completely agree. I have tried so hard to be somewhat moderate about a system I know to be ignorant, unenlightened, and misinformed. However, the global corporate construction of ob/gyn is becoming truly evil. Their marketing strategies are based on inaccuracies that at this point can only be interpreted as calculatingly deceitful.

It is going to take a powerful women’s movement to confront the seemingly unstoppable freight train that is “women’s health” in our time. I am so glad we have each other - AND the marvelously democratizing power of the Web.

Heartfully,

Christine

This group's support means so much to me. You can certainly count on me as part of the movement Christine!
