Pelvic floor therapy

Body:

I started going to a physical therapist who specializes in treating incontinence issues. Yes, it involves Kegel exercises, which I have done while sitting on the floor or sometimes lying on my side in bed. The therapy also involves some re-training of the bladder and the mind regarding timing.

So far, I'm inclined to think it will be helpful. Perhaps I can get over my obsession with POP and whether or not my bladder is about to leak.

We did discuss my concern that the altered position of the bladder when one has a cystocele might negate the effects of "strengthening" the pelvic floor. PT says that patients with a stage 1 cystocele do benefit from the therapy. Mine is at level 2 these days. I will be observing closely whether the Kegel exercises seem to make things better or worse.

I'm only doing some "light" horseback riding now, in an effort to calm down the bulge. However, I must keep delivering those carrots to my shaggy equine friend, whether I get any horsey kisses or just a "whadja bring me?" look.

Hi Saddleup

Thanks for the update. Hope you progress well. Keep us posted. Carrots will never be the same again.
