A new whole woman baby!!!!

Body:

Hi there

Just a quick one - so sorry I haven't been on here but I've been a tad busy since the birth of our beautiful DAUGHTER!!!!!!!! 12 weeks ago!!!!!There is life after prolapse - literally! I was diagnosed with severe prolapse of all three - bowel, bladder and womb following traumatic delivery of my son four years ago. My daughter was born on my son's birthday (the poignancy of that I still haven't gotten over) and it was the complete antithesis to my first experience. One consultant told me my womb would fall out during pregnany. It didn't. He also told me if it didn't then it would during birth. It didn't. In fact, my prolapses have never felt better. I eve went for a little jog 6 weeks after the birth. I had her at home, in the water, using just homeopathy and it was AMAZING. At one point there was a rainbow over the garden and I considered calling her Iris. My wonderful private midwife held my perineum as I delivered and she was just lifted up out of the water and stared at me. She is beautiful. I didn't have one stitch and I breastfed and the euphoria still hasn't disappeared. A big weight has been lifted from my shoulders as this was beyond my wildest dreams.
I just wanted to share this positive news with this wonderful forum along with sincere apologies for not being on here to give support to others like I received myself when I was in desperate need of some hope. I can't believe there's now over 3,000 users! That's just brilliant! I'm confident I can continue to manage my prolapses and get on with the rest of my life now. They are no longer ruling me - I'm managing them. Now that's a MASSIVE turnaround.

Oh huge hurray on so many levels. Congrats on the birth of your beautiful daughter, and I am so thrilled that you had such an amazing birth. What a gift. Births can be so healing when we are able to give birth as we want--and how beautiful yours sounds.

And, huge hurray for how great your body is feeling. It is a testament to the healing our bodies can do as well, and how strong we are.
Thank you for sharing, and no apologies needed for not being about--you have been doing exactly what you need to be doing!

Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful daughter. Thirty years later I still adore my precious baby girl and thank the almighty heavens for bringing her to me. It only gets better. HUGS!!! Christine

What a wonderful post! Congratulations on so many levels! You've got a life, and one full of children, but if you could spare a few minutes, would you write "your story" on here? That would be so much appreciated and absolutely invaluable to countless postpartum women. Thank you!!

Hi JBee,

Your ears must have been burning. I was thinking about you a few days ago as I knew you must have given birth by now. What a wonderful story! I got tingles up my neck just reading it! You've given us all hope and made us all proud! What a wonderful world it must be for you!....Thank you also for the encouraging words you gave me when I was pregnant and down in the dumps over my prolapse (doing much better now too)!

All the best to you and your family,
Janice

p.s. I can't believe you went jogging at 6 weeks! Good for you!

and on your son's birthday. WOW. a water birth. I really think that is the best way to go. I am so happy for you and your experience. Thank you for sharing. I know sometimes it is hard to read the tone of a post but your post is unmistakeable- joyful, happy, ecstatic, Way to go mama!

Hi JBee

Well, you have been busy haven't you! What wonderful news. It is lovely to read a birth story that is truly full of joy. This is how it is meant to be. Great news that your POPs are behaving, even at this stage when many women find they get worse for a while. Do keep us posted occasionally, to let us know how you are going, even if you can't call in regularly.

For taking the time to post! Your euphoria is contagious, encouraging and motivating! Enjoy your precious new daughter! How are things now further into the postpartum period?

JBee,

this news is really encouraging to all the mother's who want to have another baby, but are scared. how did you go about finding a midwife that didn't label you as "high risk" because of your previous delivery? congrats! -lalita

This seems to be an older thread so not sure if JBee will notice it right away, so thought I would chime in, lalita. Being pegged as high risk by a care provider depends on where you are, really, as regulations and protocols vary from state to state and country to country and depends on what governing body your care provider works under, if any. I can answer your question in a bit more detail if I have an idea of where you are located. You can message me if you don't want to post it here. (And personally I don't label the people I work with anything. Women who take responsibility for their births are perfectly capable of figuring for themselves where the best place to birth may be.)

Hello lalita

Hope you see this. Haven't been on here for AGES, because I'm living such a full, happy and exciting life that I'm running around hardly feeling my pops and able to do so much more.........I now go running four times a week, have lost some baby weight and am feeling absolutely fantastic. I opted for a private midwife but I did lots of research and it took me a long time to find the right one. And the right one I did find, boy, she was amazing. But I'm in the UK and I'm sensing you may be in the US? Would be happy to talk to you some more if you've got any specific questions.....We went to see the consultant at hospital together to ensure we weren't going to encounter any difficulties. She arranged this and a talk through my notes and what went wrong at my first birth. She was amazing and not at all perturbed. Not sure what the situation is with you but here they can't get insurance so I was a pretty 'risky' case to take on......J xxx

so sorry I didn't reply canadianmama and not sure whether you're around but things are just great thank you and I can't believe it. My pops seem to be betting better and better and strongetr and stronger. Considering I was nearly going for a pessary 5 months ago too!!!! I think the runnning has really helped......and of course, the euphoria. I think state of mind makes such a difference and panic just makes things sooooooooo much worse.
How are you? J x

you sound fantastic!
how's that little baby of yours? not so tiny eh? almost a year already?
time flies...

Was just poking thru updates! So glad to see yours continues to be so incredibly positive!! We are 4-5 weeks away from this little one's arrival...in the midst of a major move and life transition as well! The pregnancy has been great so I am hoping to add just as euphoric an update sometime down the road myself!! thanks!

Great to hear from you - she's wonderful thanks! A real treasure. Could still cry from just looking at my little miracle!! HOw are things with you? xx
