coughing and leaking

Body:

Hi all,
a friend has mild prolapses which don't bug her that much. But she has a nasty cough and is leaking horribly with it, which is driving her mad. anything that might help? been going on for ages, so getting rather boring for her...
thanks!
Kiki

My suspicion is that leaking = POP, whether she thinks it is minor or not. It is the leaking that is the problem in her case, not the POP in itself. Does she know much about us? You can lead a horse to water...

when i say don't bother her, i mean she doesn't feel her POP day to day, and whilst it may occasionally bug her in little ways, is really nothing that is too prominent until now.

I have talked about WW--she's a very dear friend so knows all about what i've been through in minute detail. I think it's the whole thing of it really hasn't been an issue so you don't feel the need. in this moment she would love an immediate solution which may not be there, but i thought i'd ask. I told her about coughing bending at the waist and relaxing her belly, we'll see if that helps. When she feels better i'll talk to her more about WW in hopes we can prevent this recurring. But in the mean time, any other suggestions about what might stop the leaking are welcomed!

Kiki, your friend is so lucky to have you to pass on this info. Wouldn't it be great if all women were as lucky, and had real live mentors to help them to work out what to do about their POP's, in the same way that we help each other to deal with other things that go wrong with our bodies?

We can all help other women. But we need to smash the code of silence, shame and grief that surrounds POP, and speak up about it, gently and positively, so that women will know about it if and when they discover it. They will not have to rush off to the gyno to be rescued from their own bodies. They will just change some things about the way they use their bodies and get on with their lives.

Kiki I am sure you have made a difference to your friend's life already.

Cheers

Louise
