Here we go again!

Body:

Hi everyone - I posted a couple of times after my prolapse was discovered after my first bubs 2.5 years ago. I have to confess, although I have embraced the WW philosophy, I never practised it with the diligence it deserved, but nonetheless have managed to live quite well with my quite substantial celes.

So here, I am 8 weeks preggers with numero 2, and just as cynical as ever. I've had a few scans already at the very good teaching hospital nearby here in London (ie great for research into fetal health, not so much for mothers' health!), and have once again been astounded by the fact that not one medical person I have seen has a clue about what to advise me about the pregnancy and birth specifically in relation to the prolpases - I don't know why I bother to ask, I think it's just my way of winding myself up (I should know better by now - the midwife I saw sent me to the early pregnancy clinic when I told her about my prolapse, despite the fact my preg was completely normal, hence having the early scans)

Anyway, so thankful for this site where I feel I can get a proper reality check. Based on the posts I have read, am I right in thinking, this is what to expect (in summary)
1. Likely to feel heavier and see symptoms get worse until around week 16 (maybe earlier)
2. Expect some relief from then until last few weeks of pregnancy
3. Continue to stay in WW postures, but avoid firebreathing
4. Be especially careful about all the normal risky things like heavy lifting
5. Have a natural birth on all fours without d-rugs!
6. Rest lots after birth for at least a couple of months, but expect to eventually get back to my pre-preg baseline as long as WW stuff practised.

But..... in the meantime, should I be resting more, and should I intensify kegels?

Hope that doesn't sound too simplistic - just trying to get everything all sorted in my head so I can be brave about what lies ahead.

Thanks everyone!!!

congrats, cynical!
sounds like your expectations are realistic to me. of course each pg is its own unique experience, but really, the prolapse shouldn't ruin this for you. no implications at all for the baby. probably the best thing you can do for yourself is rest when you need to, and eat as well as you can avoiding constipation. keep in posture as best you can, as you get bigger it will likely get harder, but you do what you can and don't stress too much about it. its kinda like the weight gain, do what you can and don't stress about it. know that you can and will deal with it later.
I personally didn't intensify kegels while pg. I'm doing them a bit now, pp, just to get the muscles working again, but not too intensely.

feel good & enjoy your pg!

I thought I replied to your kind post already, but it seems by pregnancy brain has already kicked in! And well done on numero 5!
