DVD

Body:

Is the workout on the DVD the whole woman workout? I am trying to do the workout in the book and I am having a hard time, holding the book open, holding the barre and doing things I've never done before! I am so excited about all of this. I hope the DVD has the Whole Woman workout on it!

Hi Joanne,

I’m excited that you are excited! Returning to natural female posture will benefit you the rest of your life.

The workout in the dvd is not the Whole Woman Workout that is in the book. We have always intended to put the WWW on dvd, but have not gotten there yet. Given that is the case, do you think it would be helpful if I broke the WWW into sections and gave them as lessons in our Village WWCenter? I want the first lesson to be about WW posture and the female core, but after that we could work step by step on the workout that is in the book.

Christine

I would rather have the WWW video on a DVD so that I could exercise in the living room and not the cramped office in which is the computer :)

I have been trying to do the whole woman workout. I have attempted all of the exercises at the barre. Is the whole workout intended to be done daily?

What are the benefits of the workout on the First Aid DVD? Are they meant to be done daily?

I am trying to strengthen that area so that my prolapse is "taken care of" and I am healthier and stronger. A few years ago, the OB told me to not do sit ups and not to lift anything over 25 pounds. How helpless that made me feel! My midwife had more info. She is letting me borrow your book- YEAH!

The exercises from the whole woman workout feel so good- I feel more alive! I didn't even know I had some of those muscles. I am a busy mom, but I need to carve some time out of my schedule to work on my body and in particular this "problem." What is your suggestion? Do the Whole Woman Workout 5 times a week.... or alternate with the First Aid DVD workout? 15-30 minutes is realistically the amount of time I can set aside each day.

Thanks for all you have done. I am so grateful. I would like to make sure my daughters and other young girls are exposed to this knowledge and the exercises involved. I see the benefit of the ballet classes that I never took! HA!

Joanne

I've just been doing the First Aide workout. Is that okay? I haven't done what's outlined in the book. Should I be?

Joanne, it's not exactly a gentle way to treat a book, but if you push down on the center spine in a few places, it'll stay open by itself.

Hi Joanne and Ribbit,

I am always so impressed when someone actually figures out the workout from the book. It is not easy to do, even though I spent many hours making sure I described it as well as I possibly could.

Let me emphasize that while exercise is certainly important, how we sit and stand and move throughout the day is the cornerstone of the WW work. Walking and running are some of the very best exercises for prolapse. The FAFP workout was intended to give women of all ages, and with a wide range of abilities, something fun and challenging to work on. I knew it would not be for everyone, but considered it a bonus offering in a dvd filled with lots of other useful information.

I love the WWWorkout best. I have wanted a “cast of thousands” - lol - on the dvd, and we just have not gotten there yet. It is so true what Joanne senses about it building the body from the ground up. From the arches of the feet to the top of the head are all equally important aspects of this postural work. Our friend bad_mirror (who we haven’t heard from since our reunion!) used to call it “sculpting” the body, and it is so true.

Do as much as you can from either workout - but make it enjoyable. What is most fun is getting together with others to do the workout. This is why I want WW teachers holding classes all over the planet - just as soon as is humanly possible.

Try using a Bulldog clip!

Christine, when I first got the FAP video, my husband watched some of it with me. He said, "You just wait--one day you'll have a dozen ladies here in our living room, and you'll be leading them in exercises." At this point I can only sigh because I'm still so severely constipated and my low back hurts so bad that I can't even stretch it out or do any exercises at all (today). Tomorrow might be different (I'm sending DH out to get an enema bag this afternoon), but today is a very bad day.

Oh Ribbit...I’m so sorry to hear this. Please forgive me for not going back and reading your history carefully before I ask this, but I’m pressed for time. What diagnostics have you completed regarding this constipation? What you describe should be thoroughly examined by a colorectal specialist. Mega colon can result from many factors, including nerve damage. It can also be temporary, but my assumption is that a person would want to have it addressed as soon as possible so it does not become chronic.

I am sending prayers your way.

Christine

Christine, I know you must be very busy and I appreciate your input. I started a thread called How Important Is It To Get An Official Diagnosis (or something similar) and I gave all the details there. My OB wanted me to get an MRI done. I've been hesitant, but I think the inability to poo is driving me insane, quite literally. It's like I can feel all the toxins swirling through my bloodstream. I feel like the postpartum depression is returning and I wonder if this has something to do with it. DH went to the drugstore today to look for one of those hot water bottles that's also an enema bag. Unfortunately out of the two stores he went to, they ONLY had the hot water bottle part. I'm wondering if somebody decided enemas were "too dangerous for the average person" and now they can't sell them or something. Maybe I need to look online. This has been going on for almost 8 months. If you believe I should go see a specialist, I will.

I hope you will go for testing, Ribbit.
