Cervix

Body:

While having a BM today I was in the need of splinting. Since having the baby, my cervix is only about an inch from the vaginal opening (lil more than half my thumb in) so I can feel the cervix while splinting. Today I noticed a small "knot" on the crevix near the opening. I'd say it's about the size of a pin head. Has anyone else ever noticed this or know what it may be? I have my 6wk PP exam in a couple wks....if it is still there I will question....just trying to ease my nerves now. Thanks

The uterus/cervix is sensitive to hormonal changes and forms many sizes of little and big fibrous growths. The older we get, the smaller and more fibrous the uterus and cervix become, but the growths shrink or disappear.

I am time poor at the moment so excuse the brevity but the most likely explanation, based on what you have said, is nabothian cyst. Normal and totally harmless :) Definitely look into it further but hopefully that puts your mind at ease for the time being.

Thank you Christine and Aza for easing my nerves. Will keep an eye on it, but glad to know it prob nothing!!! :)
