Hi Everyone,
It's so wonderful to have a place to go to where women can feel supported. About a year ago when I examined myself I noticed that things felt different. A year later now I know that what I was feeling was my cervix. I asked my doctor back then if it was normal for your cervix to drop as you got older. He said yes it was and that was the end of the conversation. When I went for my physical this year I told him that I felt like something was coming out of me when I sneezed or coughed. Upon examination he tell me I have a mild bladder prolapse. I wasn't too worried about it but did some research and ended up being examined by a PT who told me I also may have a uterine prolapse. NOt even three months after my physical I went to see my Gyn and he tells me I have a three prolapses, uterine (grade 2), bladder and rectal. Could things have progressed that quickly or is my family doctor an idiot? Of course my Gyn told me that surgury is down the road for me but I am not going to take that laying on my back (LOL). I can't wait for my WW bundle to arrive. A friend of mine told me that accupuncture helps with uterine prolapse so I started yesterday. This doctor told me that he has helped women whose uteruses were protruding beyond the vaginal opening. I am willing to try anything as I may still be in time at least to not make things worse. Does wearing a girddle make any difference in terms of support and prevention of further prolapse? Any advice would be great.

I am a newbie too. Been here less than a week and have learned so much from all the wonderful members. I just received my WW bundle today and believe you me it is a wonderful program. About wearing a girdle. Maybe try putting that into the search box and see what pops up. I have been told to put terms in and to read the forum messages that will come up on that topic. I have third stage cystocele where the bladder is already peeking out. Since I've been told that I am not a candidate for surgery due to lots of other health issues I came here to learn how to help myself back to health.

Hi and big hugs from another newbie :)

Hi SweetRoseMarie

I am so glad that you got your WW bundle. I am still waiting for mine. I couldn't find any info on girdles but I will just hang in there (no pun intended) until I get my bundle. Just trying to get over a brutal kidney infection right now. Doctor gave me the wrong antibiotics and I had to go to hospital today to get ones that specifically target kidney infections. I'm sure we can learn a lot from these ladies on here. Keep us posted on your progress.

Hi,

Big hugs right back at you :) And thanks for the warm welcome.

welcome angel2me, and to all the newbies out there (sorry I haven't been able to 'personally' welcome each of you...just so short on time here)
about the girdle......DON'T
a girdle squeezes your belly, and just think about what that is going to do to your pelvic organs. think about a tube of toothpaste. not good.
the whole point of this posture is to give room in the low belly for the pelvic organs to sit. this is probably a good place to warn you that in wholewoman posture you will not have a flat stomach. it takes on a different shape. my abdomen is taut and muscular but rounded (hard to imagine but its true). a common misperception of the posture is that the belly hangs and flops around, but thats only because we so emphasise the importance of NOT sucking it in.

about your question re rate of progression and your dr's being an idiot, anything is possible but neither one is probable. prolapse can look very different from day to day and even during the course of a given day. the grading system, I suspect, doesnt have fabulous interrater reliability either. the good news, it doesn't matter! YOU know what it is, YOU can take care of it and YOU can monitor your progress.

Thanks for the advice. I am feeling more and more emowered.

Hugs to you too :)
