Hi, I am new here, but have benefited greatly from reading the forums over the last few weeks. Briefly i am 43, 3 children (3,6,8) and have had an anterior repair (april this year). still have grade 1 rectocele and urethrocele.
Christine and the team...can you answer a couple of questions.
I have been doing the dvd and it is helping, but I want to do the leg inversion- lying on back with legs up against the wall. this of course takes out any lumbar curve. I want to make sure I do it right - is there a best way?

Also I am having trouble with my diet and rectocele, trying slowly to apply anti-inflammatory diet. other than the 15min video on website is there anywhere else on the site that elaborates further on this subject?

And finally I add 2 teaspoons of flax seed oil to my food once a day. I am thinking - phytoestrogens - collagen- elasticity for my vaginal area. Do you see any harm in this daily dose?

Welcome Aussielou, I just wanted to say hi, and a few words until someone more knowledgeable answers.I have just started trying inversion.I read that some have used ironing boards, but they must be much bigger than I have here in NZ.Then I saw someone else say they used a foldaway bed and they lifted the foldout legs at one end. I do a variation of this....I borrowed a bed, it has fold under ends but the midddle frame is rigid and doesn't so I had to adapt this idea to fit with where I could put it in my house.
At the bottom on my stairs is another large flat area to step off. So my bed has one end pulled out-I put that end on that flat step against the wall.Then the middle frame (which stays up) is balanced below that step on the same level as the lower still folded end (where my head goes on a pillow).
I do climb onto this very carefully.Have felt better after each session , my sessions have been 30minutes and so far have just managed x3.But I can see that more often could give better results.
Also read that another lady lies on the floor with her legs bent on the bed.With 3 young children you will have to see what works for you. Mine are grownup so Ive been leaving the foldaway bed by the bottom of our stairs. Not the best look, but otherwise I wouldn't get round to doing it.I would have thought it better to be lying in a straight line(head to toes) head to floor and feet end upwards..?? makes more sense to me for moving insides around and back into place.
I stopped taking flaxseed for awhile, but now just started back on 1000mg tabs twice a day.
If you go to the search box and put in the words you are looking for you will find lots of posts to read and more info.eg offhand I can remember CSF has posts on inversion and what worked for her.
No one regime works for everyone, so its a lot of trial and sometimes error to see what works for you and your body.It's still a work in progress for me, good days and not so good,but mainly painfree, which was my first big improvement from the discomfort and nagging pain I started with before I joined this forum .
It takes patience and lots of reading, all the best on your journey , and keep posting and letting us know how you are going.
Ahhh thought of something else to remember...as well as posture, loose clothing is important....
ie no tight jeans...no tight waistbands or any abdominal constriction.That takes quite a major rethink, and for me I have ditched most of my jeans, as even if they are loose on standing , they constrict when sitting.I do have several finer stretch ones that don't, which I'll wear ocassionally.Leggings and long tops can still be fitting and flattering and trendy, and of course skirts and dresses.It becomes a fashion rethink :-) Some of us and have also added those extension hooks to our bra's , more comfortable to wear.I must say after years of wearing tight everythings its bliss to feel so free in the body!

thanks for the warm welcome and you comments.
Got a few things sorted today, have been trying to wear loose clothing but finally went down to target today and got some pants that will be comfortable around the belly. SO that is good.
Am trying to stay in posture most of the time but that is still something i have to remind myself of regularly. When I do, it does make a difference.

On the subject of inversion I tried something this after noon (while 3yo is at kinder) with the couch cushions. They are quite large and moveable - the kids are forever taking them from the couch and 'creating' - so I made myself a very comfy inversion bed with the cushions and lay face down on it for 20min. It felt quite good and relaxing. so I will keep up with that and see if it helps.
I too am having my good and bad days. it is so hard to be patient and give this thing time ( I want my old active life back :( ), but it would seem from many of the comments of people in the forum that i must be patient and in a year of so maybe I can relate wonderful stories of healing too.
