What to do about skin granulation and nerve pain after vaginal surgery?

Body:

Hello all - Hopefully some of you may be able to help me or at least know what to expect. I had vaginal surgery, removing a Bathelon gland. It did not heal correctly. There was skin granulation and a scar adhesion on a nerve that made me feel 24/7 that I was being bitten by pincers. By the time I got a second opinion with an 'expert' surgeon, she advised reopening the incison, getting the adhesion off the nerve if she could and hoping the skin would heal correctly.
I am scheduled to see her this Thurs. The good news is the 24/7 biting pain is gone. The bad news is there feels like there is another scar adhesion slowly getting worse in the labial area where she made the incision. Is there anything I can do to relieve this pain without further surgery?
More frightening to me is that the skin feels like it has granulated again. She has told me she will use silver nitrate to burn off the granulation. I am absolutely terrified! Have any of you had this procedure? Did it work? How long did it take to recover? Are there alternatives?
Thank you so much for any helpful responses you might offer.

I can't help you regarding your pain and incisions, sorry. For me, silver nitrate was no big deal. I had a very small area of granulation along a perineal tear that was getting irritated during sex. The procedure took 10 seconds, and was done in office. It burned just a tad and I don't recall any residual effects. I was out and about right afterwards. Your experience may be different if you area of granulation is more extensive, but for me, it was "nothing."

get some oil- vitamin e is nice and massage daily- really work it and the adhesions should reduce gradually....hope it's better soon!

alemama, your suggestion is deeply appreciated. I will give Vit. E a try. (Using Vit E would never have occured to me as I associate it with as an oil that works to get rid of worts! ;-)

Your post has given me a great sense of relief, bad_mirror. The incision is about an inch long so it may take a few more seconds than yours. My monkey-mind had me screaming in agony and squeazing my husband's hands to the point of hurting him. The procedure is Thurs. and thanks to your post, I will go in with an attitude of "it's nothing."
