Riding

Body:

When I recently saw my GP (in the UK) to tell her about Wholewoman she happened to say that in her experience women who rode horses did not get prolapse. (This is horse riding country.)
It would make sense in that, although I never go near horses, the riders always appear to be sitting in WW posture and when they dismount they seem to keep this as they move about. I wonder if it's true.
Does anyone know if any research has been done on this.
The other thing that I wondered about, as someone who is interested in healing and the Chakras, is that WW posture aligns them and allows energy to flow freely throughout the body thus promoting healing generally...rather like acupuncture.
Any thoughts?

PS It's really great to be having comfortable days at last thanks to Christine; have been out in the wind and sun planting bulbs for the spring today.

Hi Amel

We have had women with prolapse who are also horse riders. Prolapse happens as a result of physical damage to the supporting structures of pelvic organs and intraabdominal pressure exerted in the wrong direction.I don't think riding regularly would immunise women from prolapse, but their riding probably gives them whole body strength which will enable them to manage POP better and maintain WW posture day to day.
