prolapseaversary

Body:

It's been 4 years and 50 weeks since I joined this forum officially.
This is my 5 year prolpseaversary! So, to celebrate I went back and read some of my early posts.
At my lowest my rectocele was the size of half a golf ball (I had totally forgotten that). Then the *soft* anterior wall turned into a full blown cystocele (I did not forget that). I was freaking out! I was totally cynical about the wholewoman methods and had many questioning discussions with you all here.
Along the way I discovered a great number of truths about myself and my world view and brushed up on my anatomy knowledge.
Then I had two more babies, because I trusted you when you told me my prolapse would be fine, and because I had learned to trust my body as well.
All to bring me to this moment in time, 7 months postpartum and about a million times better than I was 5 years ago, I feel so lucky to have you all in my life.

Oh Alemama, we are so blessed to have you with us! What I love most about WW are all the sweet women here. Thank you with all my heart for supporting so many along the way. You've been here almost as long as I have!

Listen...our work has only just begun. OBGYN knows less about prolapse than it ever has, yet is mutilating more women than ever before. The long history from man-midwives to reconstructive pelvic surgeons tells of a practice that should never have been allowed to proliferate. Yet, there was no power on earth to stop it. We are that power.

Lots of love!

Christine

Alemama, all that you have learned, you have passed on to the rest of us. For that we are most grateful. May the next 5 years been even sweeter! - Surviving

Yah, well! I have certainly learned a lot from you, Alemema, as I have watched your journey. I too have learned a lot about what it is to be female, and to birth, to be comfortable about my (now) ageing body, and not scared by the changes that have happened so far, or what is to come.

Life is too short to live it in fear.

I have the confidence in my own words of encouragement to other women, *because of* women like you who have documented your progress with managing life with POP, and shown us what is possible.

If Alemema can, then I can, and that new lady can too!

Louise

Woot Woot! keep on posting mama!
